Bishop Paul comes from Bradford and trained at Queen’s Birmingham. Ordained in 1979, Paul served as curate in Whitley Bay, before moving to London as a university chaplain. After twenty-five years in pastoral ministry, Paul moved to the Archbishop’s Council in London as the Church of England’s National Mission and Evangelism Advisor involved in emerging church, Back to Church Sunday and the Weddings Project. In 2010 Paul became Bishop of Hertford where he ministered for 4 years before becoming Bishop of Liverpool in November 2014.
