EASTER CHANGES EVERYTHING

Easter is all about the resurrection of Jesus Christ. As nature in spring-

time testifies of new life, followers of Jesus Christ all over the world cele-

brate the new life experienced through Christ. This new life is available

to all who would call upon Him.

The resurrection of Jesus is one of the most verified facts of history. He

fulfilled all of the ancient prophecies regarding God’s Savior by His life,

death, burial, and resurrection. After he was raised from the dead, there

were more than 500 eyewitnesses who saw Him and conversed with

Him. I know of no court in the land that could deny the eyewitness testi-

mony of over 500 people! Those who opposed Jesus could have

ended the debate if they could only produce His body. They could not

because He was alive.

Jesus is described as the “first fruits” of the resurrection. We who believe in Him are part of the harvest to follow. That means we will conquer death and all

that brings and that we, too, will experience resurrection. For this great truth to be ours, the Bible says in Romans 10:9-10 “… if you confess with your

mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” To confess Him as Lord means that we come

out of the closet as a follower of Jesus Christ. To believe in our heart that God has raised Him from the dead means that we embrace the truth that the evi-

dence presents regarding His resurrection. At the point, we are saved from the chains that bind us in this life and receive a promise of eternal life. It means

Jesus has paid our sin debt and we are free to really live.

Easter is more than egg hunts and the bunny. It is a celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. And that changes everything.

Join us at First Baptist for any of our worship gatherings, especially on Easter Sunday. He is still changing lives.

Jesus is everything!
