Ferranti Technologies have developed a unique system combining aircraft sensors and an intuitive 3D Conformal Symbology that greatly enhances situational awareness when brownout and whiteout conditions are encountered. 3D CS is an intuitive display, linked to highly accurate sensors that enable the aircrew to safely handle the aircraft in close proximity to the ground in extreme degraded visual conditions.

3D CS has been proven in flight and simulation and is delivered using the standard DNVG-24T head up displays that are in-service worldwide, allowing the pilot to remain “heads out” at all times.

3D CS has been developed by operational pilots that understand the challenges of operating in harsh environments.

EHUD®EHUD® is a “rangeless” and fully autonomous air combat manoeuvring instrumentation (AACMI) system. Featuring advanced instrumentation and debriefing capabilities, EHUD® ensures an optimum utilisation of flight hours and other valuable resources.

EHUD®’s unique combination of advanced air-to-air and air-to-ground combat training includes features such as real-time kill notification and removal, real-time electronic warfare and weapons delivery simulation and no-drop weapon scoring.

The system supports an unlimited number of live participants networked through our patented data link protocol.

Mission Training CentreThe Mission Training Centre (MTC) is a networked multi-cockpit, mission-oriented training centre which supports various aircraft types. The Centre provides realistic simulated aircraft training using a variety of aircraft systems and mission scenarios.

The MTC was developed in order to enhance the operational and tactical training of pilots at all levels, presenting aircrews with high-fidelity, simulator-based training while saving live flying hours.

The Guided Advanced Tactical Rocket or GATR is an air-to-ground or ground-to-ground launched laser guided rocket.

Accurate and effective against a variety of targets including lightly armoured, stationary or fast moving vehicles providing users with an optimal solution for today’s dynamic battlefield and complex rules of engagement.

The GATR guided weapon system brings the benefits of more complex guided weapons but with a much reduced acquisition and through-life cost. Compatible with current missile protocol and legacy launcher systems, GATR is IM compliant and designed to integrate seamlessly with modern attack aircraft.

GATR can be launched from a variety of platforms, providing high probability of kill and very low collateral damage at an affordable cost.

Guidance Kit Rocket

This was designed for operation within extreme environmental conditions, 40,000ft in a non conditioned bay, to meet the requirements of DO254 & DO178 B DAL B.

Power Supplies & Distribution

Ferranti Technologies is able to design & manufacture custom made power supplies at PCB, module and/or LRU level.

Our units cover a wide range of power levels & complexity including software control and in-house, custom designed, solid state circuit breakers.

Power Supplies

Ferranti Technologies has designed an independent power supply to provide power to deploy the emergency floatation system on board helicopters in the event of an aircraft main power system failure.

Inverters & Converters

Ferranti Technologies provides a suite of four converters and one emergency inverter to a large military transport aircraft. Each of these units were custom designed to meet the aircraft’s specific requirements. The converter suite consists of a 500VA, 1kVA and 2x 3kVA units providing 115v/230v, 50/60Hz output derived from the aircraft in a 3 phase, variable frequency ac input. Designed to meet the requirements of DO254 DAL C.

The inverter supplies 3.5kVA, 400Hz ac emergency power to support critical flight control in the event of an aircraft main ac power failure during emergency RAT deployment. Designed to meet the requirements of DO254 DAL B.

Motor & Generator Control

The company’s experience in motor & generator control extends to the development of a high power (14kVA) 550Vdc, dual BLDC motor controller derived from the aircraft variable frequency ac power.
