faculty team and another substantial number of them pursuing doctorate, we facilitate

The FPM at Jaipuria Institute of Management offers a rigorous academic and research
platform in diverse areas of management, designed for academicians; students and
professionals alike, driven by an inherent passion to impact business management.
The aim is to nurture scholarly talent equipped with analytical thinking, problem
solving capabilities and ability to offer management wisdom to address the industry
needs and that of the world.
This doctoral level program at Jaipuria, grooms skilled researchers, effective teachers,
passionate performers and leaders for change. The FPM focuses on quality research
through a continuous mentoring process.
Successful completion of the program is dependent on two requirements—one,
participants must pass all the courses prescribed in the course curriculum, and two,
submission and successfully defending the thesis within the rules and regulations of
the program. The program will be administered by the Program Director (FPM) and
guided by the FPM Committee.

FPM COURSESTRUCTURETHE FOUR COMPONENTS OF
FELLOW PROGRAM IN MANAGEMENT
The research scholar is expected to complete 360 hours of course work of 36 credits. The 36
credits are divided in to 12 courses of 3 credits each. The scholar will undertake 18 credits
compulsory courses (which will be common across all specializations), and rest of 18 credits
broken down into 2 compulsory courses and 4 elective courses from the functional area of
research (from a basket of choice provided by the area).
The objective of the course work is to provide essential exposure to various areas of management.
This basic input is followed by a series of FPM level courses to enable the scholar to take up
doctoral level independent research.

A minimum of 'B+ Grade’ in every registered
course is an essential requirement for
continuation in the programme. Attendance
requirement during the course work is
mandatory. It is essential for all scholars to
comply with the policy of attendance of the
institute during the course work.
Scholars must complete all course work
requirements within the Trimester in which the
courses are offered. All course work is to be
completed within 2 years of the FPM programme.
For any reason, whatsoever, if a scholar is unable
to complete the course work requirements within
2 years, an extension of one additional year may
be granted as a special case. Failure to complete
course work in the maximum allotted time of 3
years will lead to automatic cancellation of the
FPM registration.
On completion of the course work, the scholar will
appear in the comprehensive examination every
Trimester. The comprehensive examination will
evaluate the level of knowledge acquired in the
field of specialization and the ability to integrate
learnings.
THESISSUPERVISORUpon completion of course work, scholars
will be allocated Thesis Supervisor/Co-
Supervisor amongst the faculty from the
institute. In very special cases, scholars may
be allocated an external co-supervisor. The
decision to allocate external co-supervisor
will be taken by the institute Research
Advisory Committee (RAC).
RESEARCH PROPOSAL FORMULATION
RESEARCH WORK
The scholar under the mentorship of the
Supervisor/Co-Supervisor will develop the
research proposal for the identified research
topic and present the proposal for approval to
the RAC. The proposal presentation is to be
completed within 9 months from the
completion of course work.
Proposal acceptance by RAC is an important
milestone. Research topic and the proposals
once accorded approval by the RAC will be
deemed final for continuance of the research
work.
On approval of the research proposal, the scholar will work
closely with the Supervisor/Co-Supervisor on the research
topic. An appraisal of the progress of each scholar will be
carried out by RAC periodically. Each scholar will give a
research seminar every 4 months during their research work.
The purpose of these appraisals shall be to provide guidance
for enhancing the quality of research and an independent
feedback on the progress of the research work.
During the course of research work, the scholar has to ensure
the minimum publication requirement for thesis submission.
All scholars have to publish at least two (2) publications in
ABDC/FT50, SSCI, SCI, SCOPUS and WoS indexed journals.
The publication has to be related to the research work and
the same has to be certified by the Thesis Supervisor.
PRE-SUBMISSION DEFENCEWhen the Supervisor judges that the research is
nearing completion and meets the required
publication criteria, they will recommend the scholar
to present the research work in an open seminar to a
Pre-Submission Defence Committee to be set up by
the Chairperson (Fellow Program)/Dean (Research)
and defend their work. The Supervisor/Co-Supervisor
will be members of the defence committee. The
seminar will be open to all faculty members and
other research scholars.
The Pre-Submission Committee will accord approval
and stipulate a deadline (usually 3 months) for the
final thesis submission in the approved format.
THESIS SUBMISSIONThe Thesis should be a scholarly contribution to the
knowledge pertinent to the understanding and
resolution of management and social issues. The
scholar will demonstrate professional competence in
developing a model or a set of hypotheses, collecting
and interpreting data, reaching conclusions, and
drawing the implications for research and
managerial practice.
The Thesis will be submitted in the specified format
supported with a plagiarism check report. The
scholar and the Supervisor will ensure no more than
10% Similarity Index.
Scholars will ensure high academic integrity and
standards.
THESIS EVALUATION & VIVA-VOCEAfter the submission of thesis meeting all required
criteria, the Supervisor will submit a list of 5 national
and 5 international academicians of repute from the
chosen field who are considered experts in their
respective areas. The examiners will have to be
Associate Professors (or equivalent) or above in
institutions of repute. The list of External Examiners
provided by the Supervisor will be forwarded by Dean
(Research) to the Director. The Director will choose
two (2) External Examiners either from thelist
provided or any other eminent person of their choice.
The Supervisor will be the third Examiner of the
Thesis.
Upon receipt of the evaluation report from the
External Examiners, the scholar will defend their
work in an open Viva-voce Examination in the
presence of one of the External Examiner.
AWARD OF FPMSuccessful defence of the Thesis in the viva-voce
and the upon recommendation of the Academic
Council the scholar will qualify for the award of the
“Fellow of Jaipuria Institute of Management”.
Note: The FPM programme is governed by rules &
regulations as formulated by AICTE. These rules &
regulations are subject to change from time-to-time.
For other rules and regulations regarding the FPM
programme, scholars are advised to refer to the
Research Policy guidelines available with the FPM
Office.
DURATIONMinimum and maximum duration to qualify for the
award of the FPM Degree:
Minimum Duration for FPM Candidates shall be 4
Years (2 years after course work completion) and
the maximum period 5 Years. The duration will
count from the date of enrolment to the date of
submission of the FPM theses.
Under exceptional circumstances, to the
satisfaction of The Director of the campus, Jaipuria
institute of Management, (a) candidate (especially
women or disabled) may be granted extension as
per the policies of institute, governed by FPM
policies of AICTE.
Women FPM Scholars may be allowed maternity
leave/child care leave, only once in the entire
duration of FPM, for a maximum of up to 240
days. However, this leave period will not impact
the maximum duration of FPM program.
In case a FPM scholar is not able to successfully
complete the FPM within the maximum duration,
his/her registration will expire and his/ her FPM
program will automatically stand terminated.

APPLICATION FEESApplicants are required to pay a non-refundable application fee of Rs. 1050 (Rs.1000+5% Gst) in form of demand draft
or cheque, payable in favour of Jaipuria Fee Collection Account
Scholarship shall be provided to select candidates at the rate of Rs. 20000 (Twenty thousand rupees) per month for the
first two years and at Rs. 25000 (Twenty-five thousand rupees) for the third and fourth year. The scholarship shall be
awarded for a maximum of four years only. The scholars drawing scholarship are also allowed full waiver of the tuition fee
during the 4 year periods. However, if they are unable to complete the fellowship in the allotted 4 years and needs extension
they will be required to pay annual tuition fee as applicable to other scholars. In case they withdraw from scholarship they
will be liable to pay annual tuition fee like other scholars and will no more be assigned any curricular activities generally
assigned to scholars availing financial assistance. The FPM Scholars, availing scholarship, will be guided by attendance
and leave rules applicable to Assistant Professor Grade -III. They will have to mark their attendance biometrically. In case a
FPM Scholars, drawing scholarship, fails to clear the mandatory coursework in the first attempt; his/her scholarship will be
stopped and they will be liable to pay annual fees from the second year onwards.

The scholars can avail all academic facilities available in the institute like library, electronic data base, e-books, computer
labs, plagiarism software, wi-fi etc. They are also eligible for all research support like FDP, conference participation, grants,
publication incentives during their association with institute.
FACILITIES AND RESEARCH SUPPORT
A scholar wishing to withdraw from the Program at any time must give it in writing. He/she should also obtain a "No Dues
Certificate" from Accounts, Library, Hostel, Computer Centre, Fellow Program Office, PMC, and submit it to the Fellow
Program Office for settling his/her accounts. Scholars withdrawing from the Program will not be issued any formal
transcripts or partial course completion certificate.
WITHDRAWAL FROM THE PROGRAM
All fees paid by a scholar, other than Caution/Security Deposit, are not refundable, once a scholar has been admitted to the
Institute. The Security Deposit will be refunded at the end of the program, after receipt of "No Dues Certificate" in the Fellow
Programs Office

ADMISSIONS
Ÿ A post graduate Degree of a University or equivalent with FIRST CLASS in the area of Engineering and Technology,
Management, Economics, Social Science or Commerce will be considered for admission to the Fellow program.
Ÿ Candidates appearing for their final examination can also apply. Such candidates if selected shall be provisionally
admitted provided they complete all requirements in obtaining their Master's Degree before 30th September of the year
of admission. The admission of these candidates shall remain provisional until they produce the mark sheet proving that
they satisfy the eligibility criteria. The deadline for submitting the final year mark sheet is 31st December.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A. Application Procedure
• Candidates are required to apply in the prescribed format along with the fees through the institute website.
• Candidates are required to submit a tentative research proposal of 500-1000 words along with the application and
the same shall be discussed in the interview.
• Number of Scholars to be admitted shall be at the discretion of the institute based on the availability of the
resources.
• The selection will be made once in a year.
• The selection will be based on the following criteria and the weightages assigned to them are as follows:
A candidate can apply for any or all the 4 campuses.
A non refundable application fee of Rs.1000, plus GST is to be paid along with application through online mode.
