POTATOES

The main ingredient is the potato. A representative dish (Colcannon) is made with potatoes, garlic and cabbage. A very important dish is Champ. It is smashed potatoes served with chopped onions.

FISHThe most popular fish are salmon and cod. In the field of shellfish prawns and oysters are becoming increasingly popular (sometimes served with a glass of beer) especially in the coastal towns.

IRISH COFFEEIt is the most popular Irish dink. Take a cup

and add two tablespoons of sugar and four of whisky. While these ingredients are mixed, add some cream.

BeerThe principal beer is the Guinness, it is the undisputed queen, known worldwide for its unique malt flavour. There are other brands such as Murphy’s, the Harh or Kilkenny.There are three types: • Stout: made with roasted malt. It is dark, almost

black.• Lager: its colour is golden and bottom-fermented.• Ale: can be both light and dark and also

according to the chosen one will have more or less alcohol.

Typical Irish breakfastFor the people of Dublin, the first meal, the breakfast is the most important. That is why this food is made with plenty of nutrients to start the day well fed and strong. If you go to any restaurant and order a breakfast, they will serve you an Irish breakfast. It is a dish plenty of sausages, eggs, tomatoes, black pudding and white pudding, beans, Irish bacon and cheese.

Meals: Boxty The Boxty is a kind of potato cake from Irish cuisine.The most popular version of this dish is to whip raw potato and wheat flour, yeast, buttermilk and sometimes egg.
