Welcome

Call to Worship

This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.This is none other than the house

of God, and this is the gate of heaven. We enter God’s gates with

thanksgiving, and God’s courts with praise! Give thanks to him,

bless his name!

+ Hymn of Praise to the Triune GodNow Thank We All Our God

UMH 102

Now thank we all our God, with heart and hands and voices, who wondrous things has done, in

whom this world rejoices; who from our mothers’ arms

has blessed us on our way with countless gifts of love,

and still is ours today.

O may this bounteous God through all our life be near us,

with ever joyful hearts and blessed peace to cheer us; and keep us

still in grace, and guide us when perplexed; and free us from all ills,

in this world and the next.

All praise and thanks to God the Father now be given; the Son, and him who reigns with them in

highest heaven; the one eternal God, whom earth and heaven adore; for thus it was, is now, and shall be evermore.

Opening Prayer

The Lord be with you.And also with you.

Let us pray.Oh God, our Guide and

Guardian, you have led us apart from the busy world

into the quiet of your house.Grant us grace to worship you in Spirit and in truth, to the comfort of our souls

and the upbuilding of every good purpose and holy desire.May we worship you not with

only our lips at this hour, but in word and deed

all the days of our lives; through Jesus Christ our Savior.

Amen.

+ Gospel Lesson Mark 12:41-44 (CEB)

Jesus sat across from the collection box for the temple treasury and

observed how the crowd gave their money. Many rich people were

throwing in lots of money. One poor widow came forward and put in two small copper coins worth a penny. Jesus called his disciples to him and said, “I assure you that this

poor widow has put in more than everyone who’s been putting money

in the treasury. All of them are giving out of their spare change.

But she from her hopeless poverty has given everything she had, even

what she needed to live on.”

+ Sending HymnTake My Life and Let It Be

UMH 399

Take my life, and let it be consecrated, Lord, to thee.

Take my moments and my days; let them flow in ceaseless praise.

Take my hands, and let them move at the impulse of thy love. Take my feet, and let them be swift and beautiful for thee.

Take my voice, and let me sing always, only, for my King. Take my lips, and let them be

filled with messages from thee. Take my silver and my gold; not a mite would I withhold.

Take my intellect, and use every power as thou shalt choose.

Take my will, and make it thine; it shall be no longer mine. Take my heart, it is thine own; it shall

be thy royal throne. Take my love, my Lord, I pour at thy feet its

treasure-store. Take myself, and I will be ever, only, all for thee.
