History of Shizuoka General Hospital• Opened in 1983 (through merger of Prefectural Chuo Hospital and Prefectural
Fujimi Hospital; 600 beds for general medical service and 100 beds for
tuberculosis patients)
Prefectural Chuo Hospital: General hospital
Prefectural Fujimi Hospital: Hospital dedicated to tuberculosis patients
during decade of 1955-1965
→ Hospital dedicated to patients with respiratory system diseases during
decade of 1965-1975
• 1986: Computer system (total ordering system) installed in West Wing
• 2000: North Wing (beds for general medical service increased to 620; heliport
built on rooftop)
• 2003: New computer system
• 2006: Electronic medical record system
