Students who attend NTCI will become better global citizens, prepared to meet the social, economic and environmental challenges of sustainable development in an increasingly interdependent world. They will become leaders who apply their minds and their hearts to approach the challenges of the 21st century. PATHWAYS The Global Education Certificate Program will be particularly useful for students who are considering the pursuit of further studies in the areas of: Education Engineering Environmental Studies and Geography Health Care Journalism International Development International Law International Relations Peace and Conflict Studies Economics and Political Science Public Administration Social Work Make the choice to make a difference. Students may participate regu- larly over the course of one school year, or be immersed through weekend or week-long experiences during one school year. OPTIONAL: An International service-learning experience will occur every two years, ideally in the summer. NTCI will work with Canada World Youth, or a similar not-for-profit organiza- tion, to bring students to a region within the developing world. There, students will experience both home-stay and commu- nity development work over the course of 3–4 weeks. EXTRA-CURRICULAR EXPECTATIONS Students are encouraged to maintain their participation in extra-curricular clubs/groups/athletics which promote posi- tive school and community culture.
