The 4-H Natural Science Bee project is a go. We have 6 participants and are open to more (ages 12-18)

This is a 10 month project starting this month, January 2020. Each month there will be a ‘Learn it’, ‘Observe it’

ing something learnt or a field visit. Bee Hive visits will happen when needed and could be one of the ‘Do it’ ses-

sions. Field exercises will take place at Crescent Bend Nature reserve, Bracken nature preserve or other suitable

venues. The bee hives will be kept at the Bracken Educational Apiary or as otherwise arranged.

The project will use Honey Bees as the vehicle to explain and practice the concepts.

We will have modules form the Native Plant Society, Master Gardeners and Master Naturalists. There are mod-

ules planned on entomology and geology of our county.

At this first meeting, the project will be explained, commitments, introduction record book keeping, establishing

personal goals relating to the project, Bee suit fitting (If you have your own, please bring it with you) and you will

be given a hive super to decorate and personalize. This must be completed by the February meeting as we will be

GAME NIGHT

Gather your friends, make some snacks and get ready for Game Night. Do you think about throw-

back games like Scrabble, Monopoly or Life? Or, modern board games like Catan or Ticket to Ride?

Maybe your game night includes Mario Carts and Ms. Pacman. Or maybe you think about games

played on a field or a court. Regardless of the game, certainly your Game Night contains strategy,

competition and lots of fun. This year be inspired by your favorite game night games.
