In this issue we’ve decided to take inspiration from the world wide phenomenon Instagram. We all know social media is a big part of our lives and with over 30 million users and half a million waitlisted, Insta-gram could soon become more popular than Facebook. We’ve also been wondering, when we’re on Instagram, why so many boys think it’s OK to take selfies in the gym? We decided to dig deep-er and we’ve got a juicy interview and some proper research done, so feel free to tell us what you think of these guys. They are, after all, pos-sible future boyfriends and husbands. Additionally we have done an interview with the office Muse. She’s gorgeous, she’s got some serious style and she’s got brains as well - we’ve all got major girl crushes, and we bet you will get one too.

I hear you love to work out?Yeah. Working out is my true passion. I love the feeling of pushing my body to the limits with the guys. Nothing beats it.

So you mostly do it with your friends?There’s no fun on doing it on your own. When my boys are there they’ll push me. And I’ll push them. It’s a 2 way thing. When I’m on my own I don’t get the same sense of fulfilment.

Why do your work out so often? and tan so often? and also pluck your eyebrows?

The thing is, girls love a man who looks after himself. I know this. Because I’m a man who looks after himself, and let’s just say I have no problems with the lady’s #JustSayin

Do you have any pick up lines? if so what are they?Well the thing is. If I’m out with my boys, I’ll tend to pick a target, and then just dance near them “accidentally” bumping into them every now and again. As soon as I’ve established eye contact, that’s my moment to pounce. I’ll ask them open questions, not one’s that can be answered with a yes or no. And I’ll always make sure that they know that I’m the alpha male and that I’m higher up on the food chain than any other douches in the club. Me and my boys are #TeamAlpha

So you would say you and your boys are alpha males? why because of your size and strength?Yes, and our attitude. We “own the space” that’s something that you can’t really teach. You must have presence, like an actor or performer. Presence and social acceptance are the 2 most important things.

So you can’t learn or teach how to “own the space” you were just born with it?Yes. You can develop it, but most of it comes from within. I’m lucky that I’m a natural alpha, I was born with a gift I guess.

Do you think there is added pressure to be an alpha with looking and acting a certain way?Definitely. But then looking any other way also defines how you act. If I was a little gimp then people would leave me alone, but I’d also not get half as much action as I do. So you would say you get a lot of action? what type of girls do you go for?Yeah I’d say that i. I go for the typical type, big fake boobs, lots of make up and I don’t like them to have opinions on too much. Just sit there and look pretty love.

So you wouldn’t want any decent conversa-tion out of them? just a prize on your arm? or are you the arm candy?Yeah. Chances are I’ll never see them again anyway. And gf’s are too much hassle.

So your a get in, get off and get out type of a guy?Yeah man that’s the way forward. #GoHardOrGoHome

Who are your role models?I have a few. Syl-vester Stylonne, Bruce Willis, and Gaz from Geordie Shore.

So all pretty large well groomed men, I definitely see them in you. would you say you aim to look like them and act like them?Yeah definitely. If the world was full of #AlphaDogs like these lot it would be a much better place.Do you have alpha dogs that are in a differ-ent rank to say, you?Yeah. I’d say I’m the top, not because I’m the biggest, but because I’m the most alpha. Then my mates are just below, they may be bigger than me in size but I’m the leader. The Alpha-ist of the Alphas.

So your the top dog, does this mean they do what you say? not just in sport but in everyday life?Pretty much, yes. Like if I arrange a night out, then everyone will come. Also I’m the most well known.

What does your usual night out entail, from getting ready, to the drink you have, to dancing, to the hangover in the morning?Well I’ll usually start getting ready a couple of hours before, I’ll shower, moisturize, and then blow-dry my hair, if it’s winter then I’ll have a sun-bed but in the summer I’m already tanned. I’ll then straighten my hair. And get dressed.

I used to drink beer, because I like it, but it’s not cool enough, so now I drink jd and coke or wkd.

So you changed what you like to drink to fit in? and to look more cool?Yeah. Its the way forward. Also beer makes you tired

Well then thats acceptable you cant be tired on a big boys night out. What do you do the day after from your night out, lie in bed all day? maybe not on your own.If there’s a girl there then I’ll usually get her to make me a sandwich then politely ask her to leave. If I’m on my own I’ll usually sleep all day or watch Police Academy or Geordie Shore.

So you get a girl to make you a sandwich? a little sexist don’t you think? or are you just wanting her to leave and you know that comment will make her want to run for the hills?No. At the end of the day. I’m an #Alpha. There are pink jobs and there are blue Jobs. I wouldn’t ever ask a girl to put some shelves up or mow the grass as they are blue jobs. And the making of sandwiches is a pink job.

#WOW so you really are a typical alpha, do you not have a warm sensitive side?I was quite serious with a girl once. I made her pancakes and everything. But not since then.

#Maison Martin Margiela has recently collaborated with #H&M, well can I say I am in love! I bought four items from the collection and each piece is a state-ment - it’s so versatile. I am going to tell you pro’s and con’s on each item (not that there are many con’s ) the first piece I am going to talk about is the peg leg tailored trouser in black, oh my gosh these trousers are amazing, They are so flattering on the leg and bum they looked great rolled up with sneakers and that is so in right now. The only problem with these trousers is i am constantly scratching the material is so itchy on my skin, but seeing as these trousers look so good on I am past caring everyone has to make sacrifices for fashion #PainIsBeauty retailing at £59.99 i think these trousers are SO worth it. The second item I am going to talk about is the #Gold #Maxi dress this dress is so perfect for A meal out or a christmas party, it gives you that wow factor in a subdued way, the dress has been made so the seam is on the outside giving the dress a bit of an edge and more of a grunge element.

The dress has a zip following the curve of the dress from the breast to the hip which is so flattering on the female form. The only down fall to this dress is that it has been made for a giraffe but at 5ft2 it was always going to have to be altered. This dress was £59.99 which I think is a complete bargain it probably more of an evening dress and to find one this cheap and designer is extremely rare, ladies get this dress! I’m going to move onto the suede cropped jacket, well this jacket is a statement the curved shape gives such a strong look and the muted colour makes the jacket much more wearable, this is a day and night jacket like all the other pieces in this collection it’s so versatile perfect to throw on in the day time or to rock with some leather skinny trousers and heels.

The only down fall to this jacket is the elas-tic band at the back is quite restricting, I mean I literally struggle to lift my arms above my head, but saying this it looks great on so once again #BeautyIsPain! this jacket retailed at £149.99 but I found it on Oxford Street for 50% off! Well i well and truly saved the best till last, the leather jacket! #omg this jacket is insane its the most faltering leather jacket I have ever worn, the leather is like butter anf it’s such a statement piece. The jacket is heavy and stiff but i love that look, it looks edgy. The only downfall to this jacket is the price at £179.99 it’s a little out of some peoples price range including mine but this jacket is worth it, even if it don’t eat for a few weeks..

Funded by designer Carri Munden, Cassette Playa is a luxury clothing brand doingmenswear and womenswear.

Munden’s inspiration comes mainly from technology, computer games andfantasy. She’s constantly trying to push boundaries with her clothing, to bring usinto the future.For AW10/11 she did a presentation using “augmented reality”,a technology they used to activate a projection of animations onto the models inreal time.

Casette Playa has chosen to show 8 out of 12 times in digital format,using film, animation, sound and the above mentioned augmented reality.

Cassette Playa has become a cult classic for bold, psychedelic prints and strongcolours, and Munden herself says “it’s about visual noise”. She uses technologyto push the boundaries of making prints; corrupting files and braking the rules ofdigital imagery to get her unique look.

I really enjoyed my experience in the Vil-lage Bicycle.

I found the shop was really unique and had a nice variety of designers and brands in the store. Although the shop was more expensive than your average high street store it still had a lot of af-fordably pieces in it so was clearly aimed at a younger crowd. You can get a Village Bicycle beanie or a tote for under £20.

The presentation of the shop had clearly been thought out which made the shop really interesting to walk around. The ground floor walls are covered with everything from accesories and make-up to phones and candles,

displayed in a cluttered system of shelves and boxes. Down stairs, after passing a wall of shoe worship, the clothes are hanging on rails along the walls with a nice little lounge area by the fitting rooms. That way you can bring your girlfriends with you when shopping and know that they’ll be com-fortable. ‘Cause that’s what friends are for, right?And speaking of friends; the shop girls are the epitome of cool, and the best friends we all wish we had!

The brands sold in the shop include Style Stalker, Unif, Tripp nyc, Felder Felder, Surface to air and House of Hol-land.

Maddy met up with our girl crush and muse, Lucy, for an interview- so we can figure out what she’s all about.

Hi Lucy, I love your style! what would you say you were inspired by with your look?Hello, well i get most of my inspiration from the 50’s era - especially Marilyn Monroe, including her hair and make-up as i wouldn’t leave the house with out my lipstick intact. Its not just Marilyn that inspires me about the 50’s, it’s the whole glamorization of the era, i like to feel glamorous even when i’m at home on my own, theres nothing better than watching an old fashioned black and white movie in a full length silk dressing gown.Whats the perfect day time look?Always a full face of make-up with curly volumous hair. I live by the motto

“i’d rather be over dressed than un-derdressed.” My usual day time attire consists of tailored black trousers with pointed flat ballet shoes with a white silk top tucked in and a midi tailored parker. I always wear statement jewelry i look at Elizabeth Taylor for this, that girl knew how to rock some diamonds. On the cold chilly night i like to wrap up warm with a full length mink coat, vintage of course and an oversized floppy neutral hat.

Whats the perfect night time look?it’s ALL about the pencil skirt and the classic 50’s hour glass! the hair gets bigger and the lips get bright-er. I normally wear something white on the top because of my porcelain skin i feel it compliments me. I wear a high plain stiletto with some shiny jewelry. I’m like a magpie when it comes to anything with diamonds and pearls - it’s mine.

Does music play a big part in your life, if so what music? I have a wide variety of music genres. my most favorable during the day time walk-ing to and from uni is a mixture of jazz, the blues and the legend that is Frank Sinatra, he sends me back in time.

Do you like art? If so who is your favorite artist/designer? Andy Warhols timeless repeated print of Marilyn Monroe has had precedence on my bedroom wall now for years, it never gets old it’s like she standing in time. Also andy warhol’s muse Edie Sedgwick was also a great love of mine, the way she applied her make-up was an art in its self. As for favorite fashion designers my favorite by far is the Christian Dior New look that launch straight after the second world war, i love the whole concept of woman empowering them-selves and getting there femininity back by indulging in luxurious fabrics and lots of it!

Whats on your Christmas wish list?Plenty of make-up and cosmetics, you can never have enough! velvet everything. Chanel coco mademoiselle perfume. Any-thing shiny and glittery. A couple of charity shop books I know my grandmother has bought me (The Bell Jar By Sylvia Plath)

What do you do in your spare time?Well I love reading and consider myself quite well read. I also really enjoy routing around vintage stores and stalls. And ex-ploring the beautiful city.

What type of guys are you into?I have one thing to say for this: a man in a suit, gets me every time.

What can really turn you off a guy?Bad shoes, I hate trainers! Bad hygiene and bad manners, if a man doesn’t treat you like you’re special then he’s not worth your time.

Do you have any bad habits? you can’t be this perfect!I’m a massive hoarder i can’t help but go in every charity and vintage shop i see and buy old nik naks, my room is covered!
