Summer PROGRAMS
Hampshire College is located on an 800-acre campus of
orchards, farmland, and forest in Amherst, Massachusetts, a lively, quaint
college town located within the historic Pioneer Valley. The Pioneer Valley
is known for its natural beauty, progressive thought, and vibrant arts
scene. There are dozens of bookstores, a wide variety of restaurants, a
cutting edge music scene, and world-class entertainment, as well as year-
round recreational opportunities.
The Event Services and Summer Programs Office strives to present a
peaceful and tranquil, yet professional, setting for conferences, camps,
retreats, workshops, and social events ranging from a dozen to 600
people. June–mid August sleeping quarters can be arranged for your
guests in our dormitories and apartments, and a full meal plan in addition
to gourmet catering options can be coordinated with ease. We provide
exceptional customer service with one-stop planning services for simple to
intricate events.
We offer many places on campus in which meetings and activities can be
held throughout your stay. Hampshire’s five academic buildings provide a
variety of meeting facilities: seminar rooms and classrooms suitable for
up to 35 people; lecture halls accommodating up to 200; dance studios;
music rooms; theatre space; and a recital hall. Throughout campus, there
are twenty-five breakout rooms available. We also have several unique,
non-traditional spaces to offer for meetings, gatherings, and brainstorming
sessions such as an outdoor pavilion, two living rooms, a tavern, and our
rustic Red Barn.

Overnight accommodations include furnished room, blanket and pillow, and basic amenities. Linen packets are optional and can be provided upon request. Use of lounges and public laundry rooms are provided for convenience. While on campus we invite our guests to enjoy our 800 acres of meadows, woods, and nature trails for hiking, biking, and exploring. As for wide-open spaces, the Pioneer Valley offers thousands of acres of parks, winding rivers, challenging mountains, and trails.
Dining
Dining on campus is provided in our dining commons. Three meals per day are served buffet style on an all-you-can-eat basis. Daily menus offer an array of fresh breads, fruit, salad and soup bar, hot entrees, vegetarian, and vegan options.
