CHAMBER ACTIVITY REPORT

Special Message from Arizona Department of Revenue Evading state taxes is not only a serious crime; it hurts everyone in Arizona. Taxes are used to fund government programs such as education and public safety. When people evade taxes, these programs do not get the support they need. The Department of Revenue is offering a tax recovery pro-gram that provides a limited-time opportunity for taxpay-ers to come into compliance. The goal of the tax recovery pro-gram is to offer relief to those taxpayers who, for whatever reason, underreported or failed

FYIto file returns and pay their taxes. Tax recovery applica-tions must be received by the Department between September 1 and November 2, with all tax liability paid with the applica-tion. Taxpayers who meet all the requirements will pay no inter-est and have no civil penalties imposed. Now is your chance to avoid harsh penalties, criminal sanctions and higher interest. Visit azdor.gov/TaxRecovery.aspx to download forms and read the latest on the program. You may also call the Arizona Department of Revenue at 1-844-698-9176 to get further details. The Wickenburg Chamber has more ways to highlight your business

in local and social media! If you’re interested in receiving free vis-ibility for your business or organization, email Jacque Miller, Office Coordinator, to learn more. Space is limited, don’t delay! [email protected]

Since its charter over 65 years ago on May 3 1947, Soroptimist International of Wickenburg has left and continues to leave an indelible imprint on the Wickenburg community.

The biggest impact Soroptimist International of Wickenburg has made on the community is through their Soroptimist Thrift Store that opened in 1956 with a twofold purpose. To help the needy find clothing and other merchandise at very low price; andTo give the community a place to donate items no longer needed….long before the advent of “garage sales”.

It is through the proceeds of the Soroptimist Thrift Store, that the members have been able to return hundreds of thousands of dollars back in to the community-not only in scholarships, but through Soroptimist grants, awards and financial assistance.

The Soroptimist Thrift Shop is located at 74 W. Wickenburg Way, telephone #928-684-7932. Our hours are: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Fridays, 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. and Saturday: 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. The Thrift Shop is closed on Thursdays and Sundays.

Proceeds from the Soroptimist Thrift Store help to fund local community projects, along with national and international projects, such as: local High School Scholarships, donations to the CAP office, Wickenburg Crises Center, the Student of the Month, Young Life and many more.

After over 65 years, Soroptimist International of Wickenburg has come full cir-cle with one thing remaining the same with Soroptimist members of the past and that is the goal to make Wickenburg and the world a better place to live.

Soroptimist is an international organization for business and professional women who work to improve the lives of women and girls in local communi-ties and throughout the world. The name Soroptimist means “best for women” and that’s what the organization strives to achieve. Soroptimist International of Wickenburg is hosting a District 3 Fall Meeting on October 16th and 17th at the Community Center, expecting between 100 and 150 members from around the Arizona.
