DISCLAIMER:The intent of this presentation is not to cure, mitigate or treat

any disease, but rather to provide knowledge about

health. The conclusions are personal & without affiliation.

These remedies are complementary, but they should

not be applied without having first consulted with the

physician that is caring for you. Do not stop taking your

medicines, or apply these remedies without the

authorization of a qualified practitioner that is familiar with your individual case so that you can discuss your options, arrive at an agreement and monitor

your progress. 2

THE ART AND SCIENCE OF HEALING

God pledged Himself to keep this human machinery in healthful action if thehuman agent will obey His laws and cooperate with God. (3)

If man will first trust in God, rest, exercise, be temperate, dress with modesty anduse His simple agents properly, and apply principles of hygiene in using Histemple, then God will continue to cooperate with the human agent inproviding His natural agents of sunlight, water, clean air, life bearinggrass, seeds and herbs, in the prevention of disease. (4), (5), (6), (7)

There are many ways of practicing thehealing art, but there is only one way thatHeaven approves.

God's remedies are the simple agencies ofnature that will not tax or debilitate thesystem through their powerful properties.(1)

The work of cultivating the heart isprofitable at all times and in all places. (2)

Thomas Edison said,“The doctor of the

future will not prescribe medicines,

But rather, will focus on true remedies for

the human frame and in the prevention

of diseases.”

WHAT DID THOMAS EDISON SAY IN REFERENCE TO THE DOCTOR OF THE FURURE ?

4

HOW CAN ONE SYSTEMATICALLY DESCRIBE THE HEALTH BENEFITS OF FRESH AIR

AS A NATURAL REMEDY?

There are many Systems in the body that network with each other in the art and science of healing. The health benefits of Fresh Air apply to the:•Digestive System•Respiratory System•Immune System•Nervous System•Urinary System•Integumentary System •Circulatory System•Reproductive System•Endocrine System•Skeletal System•Muscular System• Hematologic System

5

EFFECTS OF FRESH AIR ON THE RESPIRATORY SYSTEM

6The Urinary System

The Respiratory Tract

WHAT IS THE COMPOSICION AND % OF THE ELEMENTS WE BREATHE ?

At sea level, the air we breathe principally is composed of:•Nitrogen 78%•Oxygen 21%•Argon 1%

7

WHEN THE ICE IS PERFORATED IN VERY DEEP AREAS OF THE ANTARTICA, SCIENTISTS HAVE FOUND THAT THERE ARE AIR BUBBLES TRAPPED THAT CONTAIN

BETWEEN 38-50% CONCENTRATION OF OXYGEN.

9

AS A GASEOUS ELEMENT, OXYGEN FORMS APROXIMATELY 21 % COMES FROM THE ATMOSPHERE, 42% OF ALL

THE VEGETATION, 46 % OF THE ROCKS, 65% OF THE HUMAN BODY AND 85% OF THE OCEAN WATER.

In our bodies, oxygen is essential for the combustion that serves as a disinfectant, a deodorant, as a purifier

and as a preservative.10

WHAT ARE SOME OF THE FACTORS THAT REDUCE THE AIR QUALITY THAT WE BREATHE ?

When the air is contaminated with

perfumes, deodorants, paints,

cigarette smoke, exhaust fumes and factory pollutants

that produce smog, this hurts our health.

12

QUE ES LA FOTOSINTESIS ?WHERE DOES THE OXYGEN COME

FROM THAT WE BREATHE?

14

“Air is the free blessing from heaven,Calculated to electrify the whole system.

Without it, the system will be filledWith disease, and become dormant,

Languid and feeble.” 1 TEST., P. 701 EGW

15

When we live in lowlands, where water does not circulate,it stagnates and exposes us to miasma. Miasma consists ofstagnant water with putrefying vegetation and this is not

healthy. When we breathe these humid and stinky fumes we arepromoting disease, since these dead leaves emit carbonmonoxide.

16

When we have trees and bushes that provide a lot of shade that are too close to our homes,

there tends to be too much humidity and a

lack of sunlight. This is not healthy.

WHAT IS THE EFFECT OF HAVING TREES AND BUSHES CLOSE TO OUR HOMES?

17

CEDAR

PINE

EUCALIPTUS

WHAT LEAVES ACT AS A HEALING BALM DUE TO THEIR FRAGRANCE ?

18

WHAT HEATING DEVISES ROB OUR HOMES OF OXYGEN?

Gas ovens, wood and coal stoves consume the vitality out of the air in the lungs. Also, homes made of stone, like those that are

made in Europe emit sulfuric acid that robs the oxygen from them. EGW

20

WHAT EFFECT DOES HUMIDITY HAVE ON THE REPRODUCTION OF MOSQUITOS ?

HUMIDITY FAVORS THE REPRODUCTION OF

MOSQUITOS. AS A PREVENTIVE

MEASURE:IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT WE OPEN OUR WINDOWS IN THE DAY SO THAT FRESH

AIR CAN COME IN, USE SCREENS BEFORE IT GETS

DARK AND ELIMINATE STAGNANT WATER.

21

When we breathe, the air passes through our nostrils at a velocity of 50 mph.

When we cough, the air passes through our mouths at 250 mph. When we sneeze, the air passes through our airways at a velocity of

750 mph. If we don’t cover our mouths and noses, we can spread germs all

around the room when we sneeze.

AT WHAT VELOCITY DO WE SNEEZE ?

22

WHAT DOES OUR NOSE DO WHEN WE BREATHE?

INSIDE EACH NOSTRIL THERE ARE NARES THAT FUNCTION AS

A FILTER FOR THE AIR THAT COMES INTO OUR LUNGS.

THE NOSE HAS TURBINS THAT HUMIDIFY THE AIR AND HEATS

IT UP BEFORE COMING INTO THE LUNGS.

HUMIDIFICATION OF THE AIR FACILITATES THE EXCHANGE OF

GASSES IN THE LUNGS.

23

AIR IS VITAL. WITHOUT IT WE ALL WOULD DIE.

Air is the most important element in

the human body. We can live weeks without food, days

without water but we would die in a matter

of minutes without air.

24

The nose and mouth unite to form the trachea.

The trachea is divided into two bronchi.

The two major bronchi are divided into bronchioles.

The bronchioles are stem like structures that are connected to

alveoli.

The alveoli are grape like structures that are grouped into

bunches where oxygen is exchanged for carbon dioxide.

WHAT IS THE ANATOMY OF THE RESPIRATORY TREE ?

25

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN WE TAKE A DEEP BREATH?

WHEN WE TAKE A DEEP BREATH, AIR COMES INTO THE LUNGS.

WHEN AIR IS INSPIRED, AIR ENTERS LIKE A VACUUM THAT SUCTIONS BLOOD FROM THE

EXTREMITIES TO THE LUNGS. ALSO, THIS SAME MECHANISM CIRCULATES THE LIQUIDS IN THE

LYMPHATICS. THEN, WHEN WE EXHALE AIR, THIS HAS AN EFFECT THAT SPRAYS THE BLOOD AND LYMPH OUT OF THE

LUNGS LIKE A GEYSER TO THE EXTREMITIES. AS BLOOD CIRCULATES OXYGEN FROM THE LUNGS

TO THE TISSUES, THE LYMPH CIRCULATING THROUGH THE TISSUES ARE ABLE TO USE THE

AVAILABLE OXYGEN IN DETOXIFYING THE BODY.

26

WHAT ARE THE THREE MOST COMMON CHRONIC AIRWAY DISEASES?

27

EFFECTS OF FRESH AIR ON THE NERVOUS SYSTEM

28

WHICH ORGAN OF THE BODY REQUIRES THE MOST AMOUNT OF OXYGEN?

Of all the organs in the body, the brain requires the most oxygen.

It comprises just 2% of the bodies weight, yet it consumes 25% of

the oxygen supply. Anything that increases the oxygen supply to

the brain will improve the way it works.

Nothing helps quite so much to increase the supply of oxygen to

the brain as exercise.29

“A good respiration soothes the nerves; it stimulates the appetite and renders digestion more perfect;

and it induces sound, refreshing sleep.” MH pp. 272-273 EGW

30

WHAT ARE SOME OF THE SYMPTOMS OF OXYGEN DEFICIENCY?

Symptoms of oxygen deficiency include but are notlimited to generalized weakness, fatigue, circulatoryproblems, digestive problems, muscle pains, dizziness, irritability, memory loss, irrational behavior, stomachpains and breathing problems. When the immune system is compromised because ofoxygen deprivation, the body is more suceptable tobacterial, viral, parasitic and flu type infections. In extreme oxygen deprivation, there can be diseasesthat threaten our lives.

31

EFFECTS OF FRESH AIR ON THE IMMUNE SYSTEM

33

WHY IS IT THAT OXYGEN IS CONSIDERED THE BREATH OF LIFE ?OXYGEN IS THE ONLY ELEMENT THAT IS ESSENTIAL FOR THE

FORMATION AND MAINTENANCE OF OUR BODIES.

OXYGEN + HYDROGEN+ CARBON+ NITROGEN = PROTEINS

OXYGEN + HYDROGEN + CARBON = CARBOHYDRATES

OXYGEN + HYDROGEN = WATER

WITHOUT OXYGEN THERE WOULD BE NO LIFE. THE COMBINATION OF OXYGEN IN THE AIR, WATER, PROTEINS AND CARBOHYDRATES CREATES THE ENERGY THAT GIVES LIFE.

34

ALL OF THE FUNCTIONS IN OUR BODIES ARE REGULATED BY OXYGEN. OXYGEN ENERGIZES THE CELLS SO THAT

THEY CAN REGENERATE.

Oxygen must be replaced moment by

moment because 90% of our energy

that gives life comes from it.

36

EFFECTS OF FRESH AIR ON THE DIGESTIVE SYSTEM

38

Develop a habit of deep breathing. Shallow breathing is a habit easily developed but is harmful in its effects on the entire body. Just after

eating and also before retiring, go outside and take 18 or 20 breaths, using the muscles of the abdomen. Natural Remedies Encyclopedia p.32

39

WHAT FOODS OR FACTORS FACTORS PROMOTE THICK STICKY SECRETIONS IN THE AIRWAY ?

•White sugar,•White flour, •Pasta, • White rice, •Milk, •Cheese, •Cream•Physical inactivity•Lack of water

40

IN WINTERTIME, WHAT IS THE IDEAL TEMPERATURE IN THE HOME?

“Your careful exclusion of external air, and fear of free ventilation leaves you to breathe a corrupt,

unwholesome air… You should so accustom yourself to the air that you will not be under the necessity of having

the mercury higher than sixty-five degrees.” Test. Pp. 702-703 EGW

41

EFFECTS OF FRESH AIR ON THE CIRCULATORY SYSTEM

42

“In order to have good blood, we must breath well. Full deep inspirations of pure air, which fill the lungs

with oxygen, purify the blood. They impart to it a bright color and send it a life giving current to every

part of the body.” MH pp. 272-273 EGW

43

WHAT SHOULD WE DO WITH THE BREATH OF LIFE THAT THE LORD HAS PUT IN US?

Our bodies are made in the image of God. We need to learn all we can about our Creator so that we, the men and women of God may be

thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

For we know that:“All scripture is given by inspiration

of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.

2 Tim. 3:16

44

EFFECTS OF FRESH AIR ON THE ENDOCRINE SYSTEM

45

PREGNANT WOMEN NEED TO TAKE BREATHING EXERCISES FOR THEIR

WELLBEING AS WELL AS THEIR BABIES.

46

Genesis 2:7 says: “And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and

man became a living soul.” Matt. 15:10-11 “Hear and understand: Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.” We need to learn how to express ourselves, using our minds and hearts in a healthy and dignified way that brings

healing into our souls.

What health principle can we learn from the Bible

about the life giving power in the air that God

breathed into our nostrils?47
