Hello from the TNT Ranch!

Welcome to our 35th & fi nal Annual Bull Sale! We started out behind in the spring and never really seemed to catch up. The weather made it a lot more of a challenge for all of us, but when we look back at the year, it was a good one! It was one of the few times we weaned more calves than we had cows. Calving went really good and we had plenty of grass and hay. The crops were excellent and having really good help made a huge difference on getting it all done. Both Justin and Kendra are working with us, and we couldn’t ask for better help.

I can’t believe how fast time has gone by. It is like I went to bed and when I woke up, 20 years had gone by. I guess when you enjoy what you are doing, it really goes fast. When my parents lost the farm in Iowa, I felt like I needed to fi nd a way to farm or ranch on my own. I never thought I would live in ND… I thought I would be a pig farmer in Missouri!!! I guess God had other plans. There were two things I really prayed for…fi rst was to fi nd the right person to be my wife, and second was to be able to farm or ranch on my own someday. The Good Lord certainly answered my prayers.

Lynette has been by far my biggest blessing. She made my goals her goals, and has worked beside me through this entire journey. Our early years were a real struggle. She went without, so the ranch could have. Looking back now on our life, those are now some of our most treasured moments and we learned so much through it all. Struggles can be a good thing. So many things that happened along the way…moving here, buying cows with no collateral other than the cows we were buying, fi nding enough land to rent in the area, and ending up buying this place…the list just goes on and on. Prayers do get answered!

Now after 35 years, we’ve decided to slow down. It is really hard for me to do, I’ve done it so long, I don’t know anything else, but we have gotten older, and I feel it is only fair to Lynette and our family that we spend more time making memories, rather than working so hard to make more money. It seems like the cattle have always come fi rst. This is going to be our fi nal Annual Bull Sale. We will con-tinue to sell bulls, but are not exactly sure how yet. It may be private treaty or a timed online auction. We hope you will still consider us when it comes to your bull needs. We will be calving over 300 cows with a few ET calves also born at Shanon and Gabe’s. It makes it tough when I feel the next calf crop is one I’m most excited for.

Shanon and Gabe have been growing their registered herd and are raising more bulls each year. This year 18 of the bulls are theirs and next year they will have even more. Their family really has a passion for the cattle as well, and are doing a great job of expanding their operation over by Napoleon. Next fall we plan to scale back our cow herd a lot more. Shanon’s family is trying to decide if they are wanting to purchase more cows from us, and continue on with their own Annual Sale or also sell privately. There are still a lot of big decisions to be made.

Our family is all healthy and doing well! The 15 grandkids bring us so much joy! We are getting pretty busy attending the 4 oldest grandkids sporting events, plus school and church programs and rodeos, etc. We also really enjoy that they are starting to come and help us out here at the ranch, now and then too.

We truly want to thank our family and all of our customers. You are the ones that have made the TNT Simmental Ranch a success! Over the past 35 years we have worked hard at this, and have gotten to know so many wonderful people in the process. So many of our customers have also become our very best lifelong friends. We could never ask for a better set of dedicated customers that have supported us over all of these years. We are so proud of our family also. Our kids have gone above and beyond to help us meet our goals and fulfi ll our dreams. They have all learned to work hard and accomplish much in life, but most importantly have grown up to be wonderful adults and now wonderful parents to our 15 very special grandchildren! We are blessed beyond words!

A quick note on the bulls in the sale. With such a wet fall we were late on getting the calves weaned. It was a month later than normal. We do not creep feed, so they are a little behind normal and our gain test is shorter than we would have liked. We weaned October 21st and started them on a high fi ber medicated creep feed, with free choice hay for a few days. Then we moved them into their big pens and fed a high forage based TMR. Shanon and Gabe bring their bulls and our ET calves over when we wean. They are in their own contemporary groups prior to weaning, and then included with ours from then on. We invite you to come to the ranch and view the cattle and see the way we manage our herd. We have several new sire groups this year. We place a strong emphasis on fl eshing ability, performance, udder quality and high maternal traits. We are very proud of our cattle and feel you will be proud of “The Explosive Difference” they will make for you. I truly have a passion for this business and love breeding cattle with the never-ending pursuit to try and make them better. Thank you for your interest.

We are still living in Bismarck. I’m still working at Warford Orthodontics as an ortho assistant and Garrett is with Mandan Parks and Rec as a golf course superintendent for Prairie West. Although we don’t work directly with the ranch, we still love being involved where we can, especially on bull sale day! The girls love getting as much of the “farm life” as they can, and I like to show them the things I did growing up when we go for visits. We are so proud of everything our parents have done and think of many of their customers as a continuation of our family. Thanks for all the love and sup-

Our family has had a great year enjoying all kinds of rodeos, barrel races, church activities, watching the kids grow and learn. We built an indoor arena this year and are excited for where that takes us in rodeo. Scott recently started a new job with Ritchie Brothers Auctions and really

enjoys it. I enjoy working part time at the ranch and the kids absolutely love tagging along to help Grandma and Grandpa work cattle, calve cows and hay. We are grateful for this way of life … God is good!

I, personally, have enjoyed our customers SO much; you all are family to us. Ever since I was about 3 years old, I have been by Dad’s side looking at bulls with you and telling you what I like and dislike about them. Hello from ET Arrow Ranch! We have been busier than ever it seems, chasing after kids and cows on a daily basis! We continue to grow our herd and will be calving 200 head this year, including raising embryos for Mom and Dad and Kenner Simmentals,

while doing some custom feeding as well. Trenton and Teagan each got 10 ewes last year and Trenton just tripled his fl ock, so they will be lambing 40 ewes, and do most of it on their own. Dawson just pur-chased her fi rst heifer with her own money from Grandpa, even though she has her name on quite a few tags in our herd already! Tarryn is quite the big helper with youngest two, we really missed her help when she started school this year. All the kids play a big role in our ranch, and we love the various interests they have in the day-to-day activities!

We as a family have been blessed to have been able to be a part of the past 35 years. There is something to be said about growing up on a ranch and then being able to continue that into your own family. The knowledge and work ethic we have gained from working alongside Mom and Dad is priceless. We truly do have a passion for cattle and enjoy how it brings our family together, working through all the aspects of the operation. We have a very special place in our hearts for TNT and look forward to seeing where the amazing opportunity of expanding our herd with TNT genetics could take us, with so many options to be explored, but we are excited to see what path God leads us on. We want to thank Mom and Dad for helping us get our herd started and allowing us the opportunity to sell bulls with them, and all the guidance they have given us. As you all know, they are both something pretty special, irreplaceable in so many ways! DISCOUNTSWe are offering $100 off each bull that you haul home sale day, and we are also offering a volume discount. The fi rst bull purchased will be full price, the second bull we will deduct 2.5% off that bull, the third bull we will deduct 5% off that bull, the forth bull we will deduct 7.5% off that bull. Any additional bulls will have a 10% discount.

INSPECTIONWe invite you to come and inspect the cattle at our ranch 6 miles south and 1/4 mile west of Almont anytime.

TRUCKINGIf the purchaser requests at the time of settlement, we will assist in mak-ing delivery. Trucking will be free within a 300 mile radius of Almont, to central locations. Long distance will either get hired and we will pay for half, or we are willing to meet at central locations, if there is a full load going to your area, for free.

CANADIAN SALESWe will cover the health papers, semen test, and Canadian delivery to the North Portal or Dunseith, Port of Entries. We will help you in making ar-rangements to any other Ports of Entry. Border costs are at your expense.

HEALTHAll the bulls were vaccinated with BoviShield Gold 5, One Shot, Ultrabac 7/Somubac, and treated with Clean Up II pour on. Fertility tests and health papers provided by Mandan Veterinary Clinic. We are an Accredit-ed Johne’s Free Herd.

FEEDING ARRANGEMENTSIf purchaser requests, we will feed your bull and have him fertility tested in early April. We would like to have all bulls picked up or delivered no later than May 1. The fee will be $100 per bull. The bull’s ration will be the same or very similar to what they are receiving now. We are not responsible for accidents of cattle kept at the ranch. We strongly encourage insurance.

TERMS & CONDITIONSThey will be the same as those recommended by the National Associa-tions. If you have any questions, please contact us. In no instance shall the seller be responsible for more than the purchase price of the bull. The bulls are 100% guaranteed. We guarantee to provide you with a sound breeding bull, capable of passing a semen test within 14 months of age. Should any bull fail, we will refund your money, or we will supply you with a bull for the upcoming breeding season, plus you will receive full credit at the next year’s sale. We have always prided ourselves with satis-fi ed customers.

REGISTRATION PAPERS & INSURANCERegistration papers will be transferred on all animals. Please leave all in-formation, plus your ASA or RA number in the offi ce. Let us know within one week if you have a name preference for your bull. An Insurance sales-person will also be available at the sale.

SEMEN RIGHTS We are selling full possession, full salvage, plus 2/3 semen revenue. This means any semen sold on any of the bulls, TNT Simmentals will receive 1/3 the selling price per unit. We also reserve the right to collect up to 100 units of semen on any of the bulls, for our own use. This semen will be collected at our expense and the buyer’s convenience. Please contact us if you have any questions.

SCROTAL CIRCUMFERENCEEach bull was measured to the nearest .5 centimeter and adjusted to 365 days using a daily adjustment of .033 centimeters. Only bulls with a min-imum of 30cm were selected. The ratings for 12 14 month bulls are 30cm and less = poor; 30 35cm = good; and 35cm and over = very good.

HOMOZYGOUS BLACKWill only sire black calves when used on black or nondiluter red cows. You will get mostly gray calves when used on yellow cows or red cows that have the dilution gene.

HETEROZYGOUS BLACKWill sire both black and red calves when used on nondiluter red cows. When used on yellow or red cows that have the dilution gene you will get roughly half red and the rest will be gray, with some blacks.

HOMOZYGOUS POLLEDAll calves will be polled and requires both parents to be polled and both to pass on the polled gene to their offspring. The majority of our bulls are polled for several generations. Every bull in the sale is sired by a Homo-zygous Polled bull and a polled cow.

HETEROZYGOUS POLLEDApproximately half the calves will be polled out of horned cows. All single polled animals will be heterozygous.

POLLED/SCURREDA polled/scurred animal is genetically polled.

EPDS ARE UPDATED WEEKLYThe registration # is on each Lot. You can search up their latest EPDs on the ASA or RAAA websites.

TRAIT LEADER QUALIFICATIONSThey must be in the top 10% with an accuracy of .60 or higher.

This is one of Justin’s bulls. He is a moderate, thick, deep-bodied bull with extra muscle expression. This is a bull that started small and took off and never slowed up. His sire is a growth and docility leader with top 1% marbling. The cow family is stacked with some of our best. His dam is a beautiful 1st calf heifer, sired by the great Conquest. She has a WW ratio of 107 and her dam has a WW ratio of 110 on 3 calves, with a 366 day calving interval, and she raised one of our favorite red heifers this year, and then the granddam, X43 is one of our favorites, easy keeping and extremely docile and productive. This is a very nice, well rounded mating tying it all together.

This is a thick, deep, powerful stud, as Kendra describes him, out of the great H2R Profitbuilder, a high growth sire that adds marbling and phenotype, with GM, WW, YW, ADG and MB in the top 4% or higher for Red Angus. His dam is a real nice, broody, deep sided daughter of Rust Recoil. She ranks in the top 10% and 11% for WW and YW. Her dam easy fleshing daughter of Beckton Hustler, a beefy made high performance Red Angus that we owned with Genex. Here is a bull with EPD's for GM, WW and YW in the top 3% and ADG in the top 6%.

Here is a long, deep ribbed and attractive made, very docile bull that ratioed 108 for WW, the 5th high and continued on as the co-4th high for ADG. His sire is one of our favorite RA bulls to use, with EPD's for GM, WW, YW, ADG and MB in the top 5% or higher and YG, CW, REA, BF in the top 8% or higher, consistently stamping his calves with the added eye appeal while excelling in growth. His dam, C422, is a beautiful cow that ratioed 105 for WW and 109 for YW, with a 345 day calving interval and her dam has a BW ratio of 114. A well rounded mating, enhancing growth with added CE!

Here is a long bodied, smooth made bull. We love his sire, a very easy keeping, perfect footed 6-year old bull. His dam is a beautiful easy keeper out of the very popular, high use Red Angus sire Brown Redemption. She had a H2R Profit Builder son in last years sale going to Frank Melchoir and has a beautiful Schuler Rebel daughter in our herd and her dam is a past Red Angus donor for us. An outstanding cow family.

His sire is the highly sought-after Hard Drive, a trait leader for WW, YW, ADG, YG, CW and REA, with BF and MB in the top 5% or higher. His dam has been outstanding, with a 108 WW and 107 YW ratio and a 356 day calving interval. She herself ratioed 113 for WW as a calf and her dam is a beautiful cow that ratioed 109 for BW and 105 for WW. This bull is a standout with a very complimentary set of EPD’s and genetics to go with his style.
