The Founding Jamestown
The Henderson family first came over to
America from Scotland in 1607. They came
over as immigrants to Jamestown in order to capitalize on the profit that was to be made in
the New World.
Invention of the Cotton Gin
The invention of the cotton is what eventually inspired my great grandfather to move to Wendell, NC. He was tired of the cotton
farming life that was lived by everyone because of the invention of the cotton gin and wanted to move and start a new life in a new
place.
The Founding of the Southern Baptist Church
The founding of the Southern Baptist Church led
to the formation of my religious beliefs. Belonging to this church was a choice of mine that has shaped the kind of person I am today.

Invention of the Model T
The mass production of the Model T led to
my great grandfather moving to Wendell, NC to take advantage of
the new car industry and open an auto-repair shop. It was
also a step in developing my love
for cars.
Creation of the Interstate Highway
System
The creation of the Interstate Highway
System is what literally and figurative led my
family to Asheville. The ability to easily visit
Asheville and develop a love for the area. It also is how my family moved
everything from our house in Zebulon to our new house in Asheville.
Creation of AP Classes
The creation of AP classes led me to being in this class right now. It also
changed and sculpted my way of
working and approaching school and the work that
comes with it.
