Yet we in God's family have more reasons to be hopeful no matter how uncertain the world . . . God, our Father, knows what we need. "If you then, who are wicked, know how to give good gifts to your child ren, how much more will your heav- enly Father give good things to those who ask him" (Matthew 7:11). He will take care of us when we trust him. He can work miracles when we ask. "Know that the Lord works won- ders for the faithful; the Lord hears when I call out" (Psalm 4:4). Don't waste energy on worrying about what is beyond your control. Enjoy your blessings Governor Walz announced an executive order which extends the closure of all Minnesota public schools through the end of the 2019–2020 academic year. In cooperation with this announcement and out of concern for the welfare of the students entrusted to our care, all Catholic schools of the Diocese of Crook- ston will also remain closed. Distance learning in all Diocese of Crookston Catholic Schools has been occurring since March and will continue through the end of the academic year according to individual school calendars. Director of Catholic Schools Andrew Hil- liker has been working with school principals and pastors of Catholic schools on school- specific impacts related to the closure. TO ALL OUR STUDENTS AND FAMILIES WE MISS YOU! NOTES FROM MONSIGNOR TIM: THE SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION: As the Corona Virus runs its course and maybe even lessens some, we want to look at slowly going back to some of the things we did before everything came to a halt. Beginning next Saturday we will again schedule our regular time for the Sacrament of Reconciliation. It will return to its regular time of 4:00 P.M. The priests will be there until 4:45 P.M. Because of social distancing we will continue to celebrate the Sacrament in the Parish Living Room just as we did before Easter. We hope that this can be a start some of the activities of parish life as we knew it. Thanks for your patience! NEW FACEBOOK PAGE: As of this week Holy Rosary has a new Facebook site. You are invited to go to HOLY ROSARY CHURCH DL and LIKEthe page and you will be able to hopefully get the Sunday Mass and all other events streamed on Facebook. Also, new this week are daily meditations for Monday through Friday each week. These meditations will be presented by the priests of our parish. We hope that you will like them and hope they will be something to enhance your daily prayer time. THE DIOCESAN ANNUAL APPEAL: We continue to receive your gifts for this years Diocesan Annual Appeal. Updated figures were not available but will be next week. Thanks to all who have contributed to the appeal thus far. PLEASE REMEMBER YOUR STEWARDSHIP TO THE PARISH. The work of the parish still goes on even in the midst of a ravishing virus. We depend on your financial stewardship to the parish. Mention was made of the Parish APP above—you can take advantage of the Parish APP in making your gift to the Sunday offertory. Please contact the parish office for more information. Thanks for your continued generosity! This week we have an envelope in our packets for the Catholic Home Missions. It would be a second collection on a normal Sunday. Thank you in advance for your generosity to this collection! CONSECRATION OF USA to MARY, MOTHER OF THE CHURCH – MAY 1, 2020. On Friday, May 1, Archbishop Jose Gomez of Los Angeles will lead the country in a prayer which consecrates the United States to Mary, Mother of the Church. Canada, too, has chosen this day to offer prayers and to consecrate their country to Mary, Mother of the Church. This will give the Church the occasion to pray for Our Ladys continued protection of the vulnerable, healing of the unwell, and wisdom for those who work to cure this terrible virus, said Archbishop Gomez in a letter to the U.S. bishops. Each year, the Church seeks the special intercession of the Mother of God during the month of May. This year, we seek the assistance of Our Lady all the more earnestly as we face together the effects of the global pandemic, he continued. For more information, please visit, http://usccb.org/news/2020/20-65.cfm For additional information and a link to the Facebook feed: https://lacatholics.org/consecration/ Archbishop Gomez will lead a brief liturgy with the prayer of re-consecration on Friday, May 1 at 3:00 pm EDT (2:00 P.M. our time) and has invited the bishops to join in from their respective dioceses and asked them to extend the invitation to the faithful in their dioceses for their participation. A liturgy guide will be available to assist the faithful who may join in by tuning into the USCCBs social media platforms: Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. THE PARISH EXTENDS ITS SYMPATHY to Chuck Mann, Kevin Mann and Lori Paskey on the death of Chucks wife, Kevins mother and Loris sister, ANGELINE ANGIEMANN who passed away on Thursday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at a later date due to the COVID-19 restrictions. May she be welcomed to Gods banquet table in Eternity!

“Did not our hearts burn within us while He talked to us on the

road, while He opened to us the scriptures?” (Luke 24:32)

How often do we take the time to discern what Jesus wants from us? Are our prayers always petitions, asking Jesus to do things for us? I f so, that’s a one -sided relationship. Living our faith means developing a personal relationship with Jesus. Just like any friendship, there is give and take, each side listening to each other and helping each other out. Take time in silence to listen to what Jesus is asking of you.

Pray the rosary with your family at home for Coronavirus victims.

Pray the divine mercy chaplet for an end to the pandemic. Read the daily readings. Watch the Live-stream of the Mass Pray the Divine Office as a family. Take time on Fridays to pray the stations of the cross on

your own, connecting your struggles with isolation with Jesus’ solitude in carrying his cross to Calvary.

Watch a movie about the life of Christ and spend time re-flecting on this image of Jesus and what it can teach you about your faith and your life.

Call or email (or socially network with) your parents and grandparents, relatives, and any friends who may feel isolat-ed, living alone, or who may be susceptible to the Corona-virus to provide a kind word, to see what help they need, or to provide your love and support in these challenging days.

Offer to get groceries or other necessities for those who cannot go out.

Check on friends who live alone to see if they need any-thing.

Have compassion for those most at risk and advocate for vulnerable populations in society (the elderly, those in pov-erty, homeless persons, persons with disabilities, those already sick or hospitalized, those with compromised immune systems, among others).

Are you considering the Diaconate OR do you know of a man in your parish who should? If you are considering discerning a call to the Permanent Diaconate, please read this announcement: The Per-manent Diaconate is a ministry of Word, Sacrament

and Service. As a ministry of the Word, Deacons proclaim the Gospel during Mass and through their lives. As a ministry of Sacrament, Deacons assist at Mass and preside at baptisms, weddings, funerals and wake services depending on the needs of the parish. And as a ministry of Service, deacons carry out all manner of works of charity from visiting the sick, caring for the poor, and participating in prison ministry among many other Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy. There are currently five Deacon Candidates discerning a call to the Per-manent Diaconate who are in their second year of formation – please pray for them. The next group of men will gather for the first year of formation (called the Aspirancy year) in 2021-2022. While this may seem well into the future, if you are con-sidering the Diaconate (or think someone else should) you are encouraged to talk with your priest and to also contact Deacon Mark Krejci, Director of Deacon Format ion ([email protected]), so that they can both pray for you and provide you with further information.
