A few weeks ago, I invited all the interim Pastoral Council and Finance
Council members, and some folks who have expressed interest in partici-
pating on these councils, to come to a very important strategic planning
meeting on Saturday, July 27. This meeting took place from 9:30 am to
1:30 pm in McGurk Hall at St. Camillus. Facilitating this endeavor
was consultant, Tom H. Murray.
Mr. Murray, founder and principle of Wexford Run Consulting, assists
executives and senior managers with strategic planning, marketing, product management, and
M&A activities. He leverages his expertise, structured approach, creativity, and coaching style
to help executives and their teams create and implement growth initiatives.
Tom is a proven executive with over 20 years’ experience in high
tech strategic planning, marketing, and product management. He
has worked for high growth firms, both domestically and interna-
tionally, ranging from start-ups to multi-billion dollar organiza-
tions. His accomplishments include identifying and justifying stra-
tegic acquisition and OEM relationships, developing over 40 stra-
tegic analyses/proposals, managing over 15 product lines, conceiv-
ing and developing a $100M+ product line, and establishing the
marketing foundations for two start-ups.
Mr. Murray is also an adjunct professor of Strategic Planning and
Product Management courses at CMU's Graduate School holding a
BSEE from the University of Notre Dame and an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh.
Over several hours, he guided us as we studied what it means to be a parish, develop-
ing our purpose and our goals as a parish community. In addition, we explored and
examined all of our resources and how best we could use them to achieve our goals.
My hope is that after going through this process together and refining it with the leadership
team, we will be able to come to all of you as a whole and go through the same process together
to glean your input, insights, wisdom, and suggestions. We will host town hall meetings to en-
sure transparency. Please watch the bulletin and the Holy Spirit Parish website (see
note below) at www.hsplc.org for announcements of these upcoming meetings.
God love you,

PARISH SACRAMENTAL RECORDS: From time to time parishioners have a need to obtain information about the sacraments they have received, such as getting a Baptismal Certificate. With the founding of Holy Spirit Parish, we have been instructed by the Diocese to transfer the sacramental records of the former 7 parishes to the Diocesan Archives & Records Center. This helps maintain the integrity of those records, keeping them all together in one place rather than being distributed over multiple buildings.
Please note these records were transferred to the Archives as of July 10, 2019.
In the future, should you need a sacramental record which was recorded
at any former parish, you will need to contact the Diocesan Archives by calling 412-456-3158 or by e-mail: [email protected].
They will be happy to assist you.
We have had several inquiries regarding the On-Line Giving option for parish contributions. Prior to the merging of all the parishes on July 1, 2019, we began looking at how to consolidate
the separate parish On-Line Giving accounts in to one new account for Holy Spirit Parish. We have been working closely with Vanco, who is our current service provider for
On-Line Giving, to determine the most efficient way to consolidate all parish accounts without too much disruption for all who use the on-line giving option.
Thus far we have not yet come up with an easy solution. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through this process, and we hope to have a resolution soon.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
I know that I cannot find the proper words to adequately express my
sincere thank you to all of you for your great generosity to me as I prepared
to leave Holy Spirit Parish. My true desire would be to send individual thank
you notes to everyone who sent me cards and gifts; however, the number is
so very great that I am not able to do this. One thing with being assigned to a
new parish, is that you have to hit the ground running, and you don’t have
much free time. Therefore, I ask your understanding that I am sending this
huge “thank you” by means of the parish bulletin.
Your generosity is beyond compare. So very many of you took time to
write beautiful messages in the cards you sent. Many of the messages
brought me to tears. The gifts you included with the cards are so greatly
appreciated. May God bless you for your thoughtfulness and kindness.
I am grateful to the Ladies Guild for putting together a wonderful reception for me after the 4 pm Mass
at the St. Vitus site. I will never forget it. I also thank all the members of the parish staff who have been so
kind, loving and helpful throughout my nearly seven years in Lawrence County. I wish my brother priests
and deacons well and am thankful for their support and prayers. All of you are like family members to me,
which makes leaving so difficult.
I continue to keep all of you in prayer and ask that you continue to pray for me as well. No matter where
we may be, we are always united in the one faith we share in Jesus Christ. His Gospel Message must al-
ways be proclaimed in our daily lives. We continue to be God’s people living his Gospel in every way pos-
sible. May the Holy Spirit unite and guide you always.
Once again, thank you for everything you have done for me.
Sincerely in Christ,
Fr. Bill Siple
Taking Holy Spirit to the greater Lawrence County community Holy Spirit parishioners set
up a tent in downtown New
Castle for the Fireworks
Festival and evangelized to
the Lawrence County com-
munity. Throughout the
very hot day and into the
night we received prayer requests, had meaningful discussions of faith,
and offered free rosaries and books about our Catholic faith. We may never know if our work changed any
lives that day, however, the prayer requests we were given is evidence enough that people are reaching out to
God. Each of us are the instruments through which Jesus utilizes to reach those who are separated from
God’s love. Please continue to pray for who those who do not have a relationship with Jesus, and also, for the
faithful who are sharing God’s message of love.
