Standard DisclosureSince October 2009, Standard Disclosures are no longer sufficient for those who work with children or vulnerable adults. A Standard Disclosure only reveals information which is held on the PNC (Police National Computer), and will not provide information from the government lists or the new barred lists. Therefore, an Enhanced Disclosure should be used for those working with children or vulnerable adults.

Enhanced DisclosureThis is the highest level of check available on anyone involved in regularly caring for, training, supervising or being in sole charge of children or vulnerable adults.

Enhanced Disclosures contain information from the PNC, just like a Standard Disclosure does, but also contains information from the new barred lists:

• ISA children’s list• ISA vulnerable adults list
