Large numbers of people have been reached – youth, academics, experts, policymakers, entrepreneurs and interested citizens. IFMSA, as the largest student run organization in the world, and a NGO focusing on health, has put post-2015 development agenda at the center of its advocacy efforts with the goal of ensuring youth and health issues remain strongly represented in the next set of development goals. Between February and July of 2014 a crucial phase of the Post-2015 discussions will take place at UNHQ in New York. There will be a series of high level meetings under the auspices of the UN General Assembly notably one concerning women, civil society and the young in relation to Post 2015. In addition to this there will be ongoing negotiations under the UN Open Working Group on Sustainable Development Goals to agree goals and targets. To engage fully in this process it is imperative to provide continuity. To that end the aim would be to place an intern to input into the ongoing negotiations from a broad youth and health perspective particularly focusing on the social determinants of health. The intern would be able to provide valuable insights on the process as well as gain professional experience in the field of global health diplomacy. In this initiative, IFMSA is collaborating with UNAIDS supported PACT. PACT is a collaboration framework between youth led and youth serving organizations within the HIV/AIDS movement.
