The Arch Degree was an awesome event, thanks to the Committee Chairman PP Kirk Carter for doing a fantastic job. My gratitude to all who participated and worked so hard to make it happen. Riggs, Potentate and they have been great all year, April was full of Derby events and Shriners were participating in all of them, Float Presentation, Boat Race, and of course the Pegasus Parade. Once again Alan Bogard and his team created a fantastic float, as always one of the best in the parade!!! May will be another fun month, May 2 we will be having our first Derby Party in the new Temple, more TV’s in the lounge will make it super to watch the races. There will be games and of course the wooden horse races, great food and fellowship so come on out!! Continuing right on the annual pilgrimage to the Smokies to participate in the Kerbela Funfest May 6-9, as always lunch will be provided and The Kosair Funsters will be grilling on Thursday evening. This is always a fun time in Pigeon Forge. May 15th Theme Nite will be a Casino Night, games, prizes and fun to be had by all!!! May 17th is Hospital Days in Lexington headed up by our own PP Kirk Carter as the current President of the Lexington Shriners Hospital, if you haven’t ever been to this iMporTaNT NoTiCe Called MeeTiNG Kosair Shrine Thursday, May 21, 2015 7:30 P.M. Wow,doesthenewhomeforKosairShrinerslookgood.Thebuildingisstillundergoingsomefinalinstallations,butitislookingnice.

The first FridayNight eventwas an excellentway tostartthingsoff.Thefoodwasgreatandtheattendancewasfarbetterthatanyonethought.TheStreetMachinesusedthisasourMarchDriveandDine.Wherewewouldnormallyplanamealatarestaurantaroundtown,wefeltitwasbettertoparticipateinthegrandopening.ItwasbyfarourbestattendedDriveandDinewithmanyparticipants. Attached is a picture captured atKosairforthatnight.

Bythetimethisisprinted,ourannualcarshowwillhavecomeandgone.WewishtothankeachandeveryNobleandUnitthathelpedusmakethiseventasuccess.Theparadeseasonisinfullbloom.Wewillmakeeveryattempt to participate in the pageantry and show thecommunity that the Shriners are a proud group andalwayswillingtostepinandcontribute.Ihopetoseeyouatonesoon.

Whew!My apologies to all ofourBandsmenandLadies fornotgettinganarticleouttheselst fewmonths. I just plainmissed the deadine severaltimes,andtherejustain’tnowexcuseforit.Sonow,letmestartplaying a little catch-up. Thefirstbigeventsfor2015weretheDivaninstallation,theCircusinFebruary,,and‘THEMOVE’tothenewShrinebuilding.Afterthelongwaittomove,italltookplace suddenly right after theCircus.TheOrientalBand’snewHQstilllookslikeatornadotore

through it.Witha lot of help,wewilleventuallygetsquaredaway.OurMardiGrasDance,whichgot snowed out in February,finally took place as the firstdance in ournewTemple.Wehadagoodcrowd,andtheMid-Life Crisis Band performedgreat,asusual.Thanks to theBand members who helpeddecorate early thatmorning,andalsohelpedcleanupafter.WealsohadhelpfromKentandSherriGott,whowere namedKingandQueenthisyear.

InApril,Kosair held a partyto break in the new patio atournewbuilding andwe alsoheldtheMasonicFairandArchCeremony.TheOrientalBandwasaskedtoparticipate,andweweregladtohelp.April30wasthedate for the2015PegasusParade.Theusualhurry-upandwait,andthenweallputonagoodperformanceonthestreet.

MaystartsoffwiththeKerbelaFunFest in Pigeon Forge....Ihavebeenthereseveraltimes,

and there is a lot of goodfellowshipandfuntobehad.

Following that,May 14-16, isthe 2015 SESOBAHoedownhere inLouisville, inhonor ofourownNobleJoeGraves,thecurrentPresidentoftheSouthEasternShrineOrientalBandAssociaton.Wewill definitelyshow our guests some greatKosairhospitality.

The Oriental Band is up toprovidedessertsforFridayNiteDinneronMay22,andthenextKosairCeremonialisMay30.

ThankstoalltheBandmemberswhoworked in some capacityat the 2015 Circus, and theMardiGrasDance.AgreatBIGthankstoall thathavehelpedduring the “BIGMOVE’, andcontinue towork getting ourroomstraightendup.

If any reader out therewho has not been tothenewKosair facility onBardstownRoaddoyourselfafavorandgo.Forusoldfudswhouseacaneorwalker(Iuseacane)thenewbuildingisablessing.Thereisahandicaprampfromtheparkinglottothemainentranceandonceinsidenoelevatorsandnoclimbingsteps,likeouroldfacility;alsoeasyaccesstotheoffices,ballroom,barroom,diningroom,restroomsandtheUnit/Clubmeetingrooms.Plusthereisanabundanceofrealcloseparking.Alsoincaseofrainorsnow

thereisaporticoatthemainentrancewhereyoucanwaitwhileyourwifeparksthecar(nousebothgettingwet).

We recently hadNobles Arthur Buchter andCurtisAshcraft join theKosairTransportationUnit.Gentlemenwewelcomeyou. If any othermember,ormembers,ofKosairwishestojoinourgroupwewelcomeyou.Sincethemajorityofourtripsstartinthemorningithelpstoberetiredorsemi-retired.Youwillbefurnishedauniformandalloutofpocketexpenseswhileonatripwillbereimbursed.Ourmeetingsstartat10:30AMevery3rdWednesdayofthemonth.

Astoourtrip loadfromJanuary21sttoMarch17th thingshave been slower thanusual.PartofthiswascausedbytheearlyMarchsnows.Wehadonly10tripsanddroveonly3400miles;thatanaverageof340milespertrip.

Since this waswrittenMarch 29th it finallyappearsSpringhasarrived(Hallelujah)andthefirst Saturday inMay (DerbyDay) is onlyfiveweeksaway.
