Just like various forums. Communities are part of over blog. An advantage that communities offer is essentially your own blog / content can be added as part of community forums.

However there are a lot of ads on the community which makes a lot of clutter.

Also didn’t see many interesting engaging conversations there

Overblog – How useful is it?

• From a blog stand point it isn’t that great. A very casual blogging platform.• Tried exploring the communities as such. Had some problems in logging in. Directs me to the french page and doesn’t accept the login. Seems like some issues do crop up.• However explored the communities bit without signing in. Didn’t find very relevant categories or conversations as such. • Plus it’s a lot cluttered especially with ads.

I’d say this isn’t that big a hit in terms of creating our own community page. I’d rather use Ideascale which worked wonders for Intel.
