SCAMPER :
SCAMPER is an effective brainstorming tool used most commonly by groups
in process and product improvement projects. It is beneficial both when a
group is having trouble coming up with new ideas and as a starting point for
brainstorming in a new area. The name is an acronym which stands for
seven techniques: Substitute, Combine, Adapt, Modify, Put To Other Use,
Eliminate and Rearrange.
Substitute: Brainstorm ways to substitute for existing materials, process
steps, people, or locations. Think of any aspects of your current process or
product, especially those that are considered mandatory, and determine if
there is any way to substitute something different.
Combine: Develop a list of ways you can combine multiple objects, ideas,
materials, or functions into one. Figure out which parts of your process are
currently done independently and brainstorm means of integrating them.
Adapt: Think of ways to adapt existing products or techniques to serve a
different purpose or function in a different environment. Consider what
objects might serve a new function, which groups in your organization cantake on different roles, and which existing products or processes can be
altered to meet your needs.
Modify: Establish options for modifying various elements of your process or
product. Discuss ways you could change sizes, remove parts, delete process
steps, add functionality, and enhance attractiveness.
Put to other use: List ways that you can put an item to different uses.
What other functions could it serve, and who else might find it useful?
Eliminate: Identify opportunities to eliminate parts, process steps, excess
inventory, or unpopular features. Determine how doing so opens up
opportunities for other improvements.
Rearrange: Discuss ideas for rearranging elements in your product or
process. Could any steps be transposed, or parts moved around?

The color rings are intended to be worn in the thumb and little finger that works as
a microphone and headset, while connecting wirelessly to your mobile phone. All
you need to do is to point your thumb and little finger towards your ear and mouth
respectively to make or receive a call, thanks to the built-in distance sensors.
Combine:
Till now Rings are used as ornaments only. By combining Communication
technology with rings new innovative product can be made. This technology will
make eliminate the purpose of mobile for communication. People who are using
mobile only for the reason to communicate, these technology would be beneficiary
for them.

In a world where people appreciate good design everywhere, cool mini hotel
rooms are the latest ‘it’ trend. Concepts are popping up at airports, train
stations and downtowns around the world, replacing and mimicking the “day
rooms” already existing at many airports.
Adapt & Modify:
Travelers who travel through air often have long waiting time between two
flights. They have to wait on airport or have to check in nearby hotels. For
them “SLEEP BOX” would be provided on Air port only. These are served
same as mini hotels. Modification in terms of size and attractiveness are
done to adapt new environment(on Airport or Train stations).

Transparent Toaster:
The toaster is typically a small electric kitchen appliance designed to toast
multiple types of bread products. A typical modern two-slice toaster draws
anywhere between 600 and 1200 W and makes toast in 1 to 3 minutes.
There are also non-electrical toasters that can be used to toast bread
products over an open fire or flame
Eliminate:
Eliminate color of the toaster so customers can see through it. It means no
more burning of bread and burning of your fingertips while you nip at yourscolding bread product.
