We are so excited to introduce you to these new Pastors and Churches that have joined your association within
the last year:
Woodlands Family Church is a Korean Baptist Church. The Pastor is Timothy Yum. They meet at Woods
Edge in The Woodlands. The sponsor is First Baptist Church of Conroe. Associate Pastor David Lorenz is the
contact person for this mission. Pastor Yum’s wife Audrey is a professor at SHSU, a very talented lady. She is a
virtuoso on the cello and plays many instruments. Her doctoral thesis was on music therapy to help autistic
children.
Covenant Cowboy Church is an African-American Cowboy Church. The Pastor is Thomas Merchant (wife
Terralyn). The sponsor is First Baptist Church of The Woodlands, represented by Zeke Dorr, Worship Leader
(and Missions). A key sponsor is Onalaska First Baptist Church, represented by Dr. Donald Wilkey, Senior Pastor.
This church expects to meet near Huntsville in a red barn south of 40 Park Road on highway 75.
Iglesia Bautista Esperanza Ardiente (Pastor Pablo Palma) is a Hispanic congregation sponsored by Burning
Hope Baptist Church (Pastor Jim Parrish), Rural Shade Baptist Church (Pastor Byron Reeves) and Iglesia Bautista
Getsemani (Pastor Salvador Ramos). The new church meets at Burning Hope in Trinity. Pablo (wife Carmen) is a
talented musician and a good soul winner. They are growing well.
The first and most important step in planting new works is prayer. Please remember that all the churches
and missions within our association (whether new or established) need prayer. Perhaps you would consider
praying for your area, county, association, state or beyond—your prayer counts, lend it to the kingdom.
You Can Impact a Mission Today!
Walker County Cowboy Church is in need of an arena. The cost will be
just under $6,000. They will have to set it up and it will include a 120 x
190 roping arena with holding pens, 2 roping boxes, roping chute and
stripping chute made of heavy duty 60-65 pound panels. They also will
need $3,000-$5,000 for an 8” layer of arena dirt to put on top of the
soil that they already have.
