Foreword
Alarm indicator is designed according to the requirements in Part 4/ Chapter 1/Section 3
and Part 7/Chapter 2/Section 4 of CCS Rules for Classification of Steel ships 2006, IMO
Resolution A830(19)(1995) Code on alarms and indicators and GB9193 Acoustic, optical
alarm signals and identifying indications in ships; test items and test method introduce the
relevant clauses in CCS guidance notes GD01-2006 Guidelines for Type Approval Test of
Electric and Electronic Products.
This instruction is issued firstly in September 2007 and version is V0.0.
This instruction is revised firstly in June 2008 and version is V0.1.
This instruction is revised secondly in June 2010 and version is V0.2.
This revision include following:
1. Add 1.2 function feature.
2. Revise system connection diagram.
3. In the system configuration, add SGB-8, SGF-8 alarm indicator and quantity is changed
to 1~20; add alarm indicator whose model with suffix A.
4. Revise ambient temperature +5℃~+55℃ to 0℃~+55℃.
5. Update the contents of 3. Function description.

1 General
1.1 Function summary Alarm indicator could detect the signals of general emergency alarm, telegraph alarm, telephone call, machinery alarm, fire alarm, CO2 alarm, engineers’ alarm and water mist alarm, and then send out various audible and visual alarm signals. At the same time, the alarm indicator on the control console could also distinguish the type of alarm signals so that the duty crews could take necessary measures for emergency. 1.2 Function feature 1. Combined indicator column reduce the space usage and viewing range is wide. 2. Alarm display is LED instead of bulb so as to prolong the life and reduce the power loss. 3. Serial port is introduced to transmit the signal between alarm indicator and relay box, so
only four-core cable is required including the power supply. 4. Automatic switchover between main power supply and emergency power supply and also
has power failure alarm function. 5. If two power supplies are AC220V, system can be connected with up to 20 alarm indicators.

Sort number description: K for relay box, B for alarm indicator(wall mount) and F for alarm indicator(wall mount and flush type).

3 Function description All input terminals are normally open contacts. It will make alarm indicator work when detect any closed contact. When telephone call is detected, the light on SGB alarm indicator for telephone call will blink, the speaker will send out 800Hz intermittent alarm tone(1s on and 1s off) and the yellow rotating lamp will work. Moreover, the light on SGF alarm indicator for telephone call will also blink, the buzzer will send out 800Hz intermittent alarm tone(1s on and 1s off). When telegraph alarm is detected, the light on SGB alarm indicator for telegraph alarm will blink, the speaker will send out 800Hz intermittent alarm tone(0.5s on and 0.5s off) and the yellow rotating lamp will work. Moreover, the light on SGF alarm indicator for telegraph alarm will also blink, the buzzer will send out 800Hz intermittent alarm tone(0.5s on and 0.5s off). When machinery alarm is detected, the light on SGB alarm indicator for machinery alarm will blink, the speaker will send out 800Hz/1000Hz conversion alarm tone and the yellow rotating lamp will work. Moreover, the light on SGF alarm indicator for machinery alarm will also blink, the buzzer will send out intermittent alarm tone. When general emergency alarm is detected, the light on SGB alarm indicator for general

emergency alarm will blink, the speaker will send out 1000Hz seven-short-one-long alarm tone (short tone 1s, long tone 3s and interval 1s, interval between two periods is 3s) and the green rotating lamp will work. Moreover, the light on SGF alarm indicator for general emergency alarm will also blink, the buzzer will send out seven-short-one-long alarm tone. When CO2 alarm is detected, the light on SGB alarm indicator for CO2 alarm will blink, the speaker will send out 1000Hz continuous alarm tone and the red rotating lamp will work. Moreover, the light on SGF alarm indicator for CO2 alarm will also blink, the buzzer will send out continuous alarm tone. When fire alarm is detected, the light on SGB alarm indicator for fire alarm will blink, the speaker will send out 500~1200Hz continuous FM tone and the red rotating lamp will work. Moreover, the light on SGF alarm indicator for fire alarm will also blink, the buzzer will send out continuous FM tone. When engineers’ alarm is detected, the light on SGB alarm indicator for engineers’ alarm will blink, the speaker will send out 500~1000Hz intermittent FM tone(period intermittent 0.5s) and the yellow rotating lamp will work. Moreover, the light on SGF alarm indicator for engineers’ alarm will also blink, the buzzer will send out intermittent FM tone. When water mist alarm is detected, the light on SGB alarm indicator for water mist alarm will blink, the speaker will send out 500~1200Hz continuous FM tone and the red rotating lamp will work. Moreover, the light on SGF alarm indicator for water mist alarm will also blink, the buzzer will send out continuous FM tone.

6 Notice Caution: Please prevent the latent danger of death or grievous injury.
6.1. Power supply should be connected firmly and reliably.
6.2. This main unit should be located in enclosed space. It must not be located in the places where may rain, be too humid, have a lot of dust or smoke, otherwise it may result in fire or electric shock.
6.3. If the product gives out abnormal odour or smoke, please stop operating it and switch it off at once, then contact us.

6.4. During cleaning, please don’t splash the water over the product, otherwise it may result in fire or electric shock.
