Programming information ■

•Topreventdata loss, youshouldfirst copy theset-tingsdata(ICFfile)onthecardtothePC.Aftercopy-ing, read the data into the cloning software, before editing or entering new software parameters.

•Beforeeditingorenteringnewdata,makeabackupfileontoyourPC.Abackupfileallowseasyrestoringeven if the setting data in the microSD card is acci-dentally deleted.

•Be sure to turn OFF the power before inserting orremoving the microSD card.

•NEVER remove the microSD card, detach the battery pack/case,orpowerOFFthetransceiver,whileread-ing or writing data to or from the microSD card. It will cause the data to be corrupted or damage the card.

To clone the memory channels, MENU item settings andrepeaterlist,inputtheCS-51PLUSclOning sOft-waRe, using a microSD card, follow the steps below.

Set the desired memory channels, MENU item set- qtingsandtherepeaterlistintheCS-51PLUSclOn-ing sOftwaRe,andthensavetheminan“icf”filefor-matinafolderonyourPC.CopytheICFfileintothe[Setting]folderinthe[ID- w51]folderonthemicroSDcard.Insert the microSD card that includes the ICF file einto the slot of the transceiver, then load it to com-plete the cloning.

NOTE:•After loading, the contents of the ICF file will

overwrite the current data.•Theloadingcontentscanbeselectedbetween

“ALL,” “Except My Station,” and “Repeater List Only.” Select “Repeater List Only” to load only the repeater list into the transceiver.

•The original skip settings in your repeater listcanbekeptwhen loading.When“Keep‘SKIP’settinginRepeaterList?”appears,select“YES”to keep the skip settings in the repeater list.

•Topreventdataloss,youshouldfirstread(download)all the transceiver’s data before entering or editing parameters using the cloning software.

•Before editing or entering, make a backup file ontoyourPC.Abackupfileallowseasyrestoringevenifthesetting data in the transceiver is accidentally deleted.

•While reading or writing (uploading) cloning data,NEVER turn OFF the transceiver or the PC, andNEVER disconnect the cable. Otherwise, the data could be lost or deleted.

Cloning operation ■

To clone the memory channels, MENU item settings and repeater list using an optional data cable, follow the steps as described below.

Push[MENU]onthetransceiver,andthenfollowthe qsteps described below to display the clone mode.

(MENU>Others>Clone>Clone Mode)Click w ,orselect“Read<-TR”inthe[Clone]menuto start reading the data from the transceiver.

Also, click orselect “OpenCtrl+O” in the [File]menutoopentheICFfiletowritetothetransceiv-er. Program the settings for each function, using the eCS-51PLUS.

•SeetheHelpfileoftheCS-51PLUSforassistance.Click r , or select “Write->TR”inthe[Clone]menuto write the programmed data into your transceiver.

NOTE: After writing, the programmed data will overwrite the current data.

After the reading is completed, the transceiver re- tturns to the menu screen.

After the writing is completed, the screen to the right will appear.

TurnOFFthepower,thenturnitONagaintooper-ate the transceiver with the loaded data.

Entering data in the settings file

This section describes how to enter data in the downloadedsettingsfile(ICFfile).

Before starting to enter, make an initial set up in order to send the version information of the transceiver to the software. (pp. 3, 5)

qClick orselect“OpenCtrl+O”inthe[File]menuof the CS-51PLUS to open the ICF file, saved in “LatestICFfileandCSVfilesdownloading”asde-scribed to the left. Program each setting for each function, using the wCS-51PLUS.

Click ➥ ,orselect“Read<-TR”inthe[Clone]menuto start reading the data from the transceiver.

Before importing, make a backup file of all thetransceiver’sdataontoyourPC topreventdataloss.

Repeater list import2.

qSelect the “Repeater List” folder or each repeater grouponthetreeviewscreenoftheCS-51PLUS. wClick “Import” in the [File] menu, and then click“All...”.

•TherepeaterinformationinaCSVfilewillbeim-ported, and sorted into all groups, according to the group number.

NOTE:When“Group...” isselected,all repeaterinformationinthefilewillbeimportedintothere-peater group, selected in step q.

If you select the “Repeater List” folder in step q, “Group...”cannotbeselected.

eThe[Open]screenappears. Select the CSV file, saved in “Latest ICF file and

CSV filesdownloading”describedonpage7,andthenclick[Open].The“Importfromthefile”dialogappears,andthen rclick[OK].

•Yes: If the repeater call sign in your original repeat-er group is in the CSV file format, the original“USE(FROM)”settingswillbekeptwhenimport-ing.

•No: Even if the repeater call sign in your original re-peatergroupisintheCSVfileformat,theoriginal“USE(FROM)” setting will be replaced when im-porting.
