Recognizing that Nova Voce members will typicallyhave a greater number of school and extra-curricularcommitments in addition to SJBC, the Nova Voceseason is not as intense as the Concert Choir season. However, as it is an anniversary year, there are stillseveral performance opportunities.

When do I graduate from SJBC?All Concert Choir boys in the 8th grade during the 2014-2015 season will graduate in June 2015. They will receive their graduation plaque and be eli-gible for the Leadership and Director’s Awards. These boys may choose to extend their SJBC membership into 9th grade during the 2015-2016 season.

All Concert Choir boys in lower grades during the 2014-2015 season with changing or changed voices will be asked to fulfill their SJBC commitment (through the 8th grade) with Nova Voce. If they choose to participate in Nova Voce during the 2015-2016 season, they will graduate in June 2016 and will receive their plaque and be eligible for all awards at that time.

Do I get to participate in Leadership Camp?TThe two-day summer Leadership Camp will be available to all boys who will be in 8th grade during the 2015-2016 season, as well as to any members of Nova Voce who are not yet in the 8th grade. Boys who have already com-pleted Leadership Camp will be asked to attend the second day of Leader-ship Camp as they will be part of the 2015-2016 Leadership Team.

Can I choose to sing in YCCM instead? The Youth Chorale of Central Minnesota (YCCM) remains an option for any boy in 9th grade who wishes to sing. YCCM is a mixed ensemble (SATB, men and women) that rehearses at SJU on Sunday nights. 9th grade boys may choose to sing with YCCM instead of with Nova Voce, or may choose to do both if their schedule allows.

Do Nova Voce members attend Grad Nights?YYes. Grad Nights will be called something else (name TBD) and will be open for all members of the Leadership Team, which includes all of Nova Voce and any 8th grade leaders in the Concert Choir. These are opportunities to build community, discuss SJBC issues, eat junk food, and have fun.
