Office of Speaker Judith Won Pat 33 rd Guam Legislature In partnership with: April 12, 2016 Dear Participants: Hafa Adai! The Office of Speaker Judith Won Pat is pleased to inform you that the registration to the 1 st Asia-Pacific Library Congress on August 26- 29, 2016 in the beautiful island of Guam, United States of America is now open. The Speaker of the 33 rd Guam Legislature, Hon. Judith Won Pat, Ed.D who is also the Chairperson of the Committee of Higher Education, Culture, Public Libraries, and Women’s Affairs is supporting the event in partnership with Kaizen, an events company in Guam, USA and Global Mentors for Change, a SEC registered organization in the Philippines. The goal of the Congress is three-fold. First, it aims to establish linkages among the librarians from Guam and the Philippines. Second, it provides an avenue for high-impact discussions, collaboration and exchange of ideas on current trends involving libraries. Third, it is also an opportunity for a great travel adventure and benchmarking as the participants have time to do library visits and have a tour in Guam. Package Fee: ($1,300)- to be refunded only to a non-granting of a US Visa within the cut-off date of July 4, 2016 1 st Commitment Fee – June 17, 2016, Friday - ($200) + $160 for the US Visa DS160 form to book an interview to the embassy should the participant lack a US Visa. 2 nd Commitment Fee- July 4, 2016, Monday- ($300) 3 rd Commitment Fee- July 18, 2016, Monday- ($300) 4 th Commitment Fee- August 17, 2016, Wednesday- ($500) Please be informed that a refund will only be granted to participants whose visa has been denied by the embassy. We encourage participants to pay in US dollars due to the fluctuating peso-dollar conversion. Should you wish to pay in Philippine peso, the $1= PHP48 conversion rate shall apply.
