    PREFACEPerspective and Mission

    Shri Sevadas shikshan prasarak mandal’s work in the field of social service,social work and education is remarkable one. Its commitment to the sound health ofthe institution and development day by day is also note worthy and it has beenrewarded and recognized by govt of maharashtra by awarding Dr. B. R. AmbedkarDalit Mitra Sanstha Puraskar in 1993.

    And as a landmark in the history of Shri sevadas shikshan prasarak mandal,Jawaharlal Nehru College of Social Work, cidco, New Nanded has been establishedin 1992 by starting MSW/BSW courses and emerged as a pioneer center of higherlearning in social work education in marathwada region by the untiring and continousdevotion and dedication of S.S.P. Mandal’s President Dr. Nanasaheb Jadhav whohas been awarded by Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Dalit Mitra Puraskar at Mumbai in 2010.

    Our College has aims, objectives and mission and trying to develop it’sperspective so that student can develop a critical consciousness with reference toprofessional attributes and can participate in shaping the course of change itself inhuman directions and they may able to understand the social system, it’s functioningand the role they have to play consistent with their professional goals and objectives.

    Social work is a helping activity, it has a knowledge base, it has it’s own methodsof services and draws it inspiration from humanitarianism and has a problem solvingfunction, and thus by imbibing and inculcating social work knowledge, values, skills,introducing goals and objectives, philosophy, scientific temper, professional self andintervention strategies. Our college is trying to develop a professional trained socialworkers by shaping their future.

    B.S.W.PROGRAMME :-

    Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) Intake Capacity-60

    ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION :-

    1) Candidates who have passed HSC (Arts, Com & Science) or Equivalent with at least 35%Marks in the aggregate

    2) Selection of candidates will be be done on the basis of merit, marks obtained in HSCExamination.

    3) Candidate is expected to have working knowledge of Marathi. Thus, Hindi for those whocome from non Marathi background

    4) He must have pursued a regular course of study consisting of three years,5) He must have passed all the examination prescribed for the bachelor of social work course of

    the University6) Candidate will not be permitted to register for other course or to take up part Time/ Full time

    course, while studying for the Bachelor of Social work Course.7) 80% Attendance is compulsary for classroom teaching and 100% for field work practicum.

    Social Work Practicum (Field Work) :-Concurrent field work for BSW I,II,III and IV th SemOrientation Visit

    Field work will begin with 15 orientation visit for BSW I Sem in various Social welfareInstitution.

    For BSW II Sem Student, School social work method has to be followed and excercised.Concurrent field work for BSW III & IV Sem

    For Concurrent field work, case work & Group work methods will be exercisedConcurrent field work for BSW V & VI Sem

    During the third year, field work is involved with community organization, social welfareadministration, & ResearchProject Report

    The BSW III year students shall select topic/ area at the beginning of third year for a projectwork. A candidate must obtain minimum 50 marks for passing in the project report.Study Tour

    For BSW III Year study tour is also a part of field work. The amount of study tour fees is tobe paid at the time of admission.Passing Criteria

    The minimum marks of passing in individual theory paper is 16 out of 40 marksThe minimum marks of passing in field work practicum is 20 out of 50 marks & 50 out of

    100 marks.The minimum marks of passing in project report is 50 out of 100 marks.

    papers prescribed of the first year examination shall be allowed to keep term for second year.Library Deposit :-

    Rules of Reservations :-Reservation of seats for backward class students will be limited to 50% of the intake capacity

    1 This reservation will not exceed the total intake capacity.2 According to the government decision No. CBC-1094/PK-86/MVK-5 dated 16-06-1094,

    Field work :-1) Field work consist of 15 hours per week & 40 days in an academic year excluding village

    camp. During the First year Orientation visits, are organized followed by concurrent assignmentgiven in case work & Group Work, first year field work program also consist of 10 days village/Tribal camp.

    2) During the second year, Students after orientation, visits are placed for concurrent field workat various areas of community organization, community development services & inindustries.Tours & other activities arrange as parts of field work which is compulsory. EachStudent shall have to put in minimum 80% of field work days during the academic year.

    4) Block Placement :-After the completion of all requirement for the MSW course candidate will be required tocomplete one month block placement after the second year final examination as per theirspecialiazation. Students are advised herewith to complete their block placement in reputedinternational, national or forign funded agencies only.

    5) Uniform :-For all BSW/MSW Students note that college uniform are compulsory.

    6) Research Committee :-College has constituted research committee saperately for UG and PG course. Students areadvised herewith to stay in contact with such research committee/supervisor time to time.

    7) Placement / Career Guidance Cells.:-College has employment Guidance cell, which provides employment constancy to all thestudents and passed out students may also avail this opportunity.

    8) Students Council Board :-Students board will be constituted as per maharashtra public university Act, 2016.

    9) Sports facilities :-Out door games facilities are available to the students.

    10) Various competitions/Events :-Various competition/Events are being organized by the college time to time to enhance theirskills and knowledge.

    11) Wall Poster :-For enhance the sense and ability of the Students, they shall submit their articles, poem, etc.for wall poster.

    12) Attendance :-Students admitted to this course will have to be regular in their classes as well as fieldwork.If their attendance is below 75% in the classroom & 80% in concurrent fieldwork they will notbe allowed to appear for the university examination.

    13) Seminar & Group Discussion:-Students will take a selected topic for seminar and he /She has to present it in classroom.Group Discussion will be organized once in a moth for sharing of views , ideas about currentsocial issues.

    14) Every student must have to follow the college discipline in the college premises.Diciplinary rules for students

    a. Every student of the college must have an Identity card and it should keep always with him/her.

    b. Student should complege compulsary 80% attendance those does not follow this rule he/shewill not allowed to final examination of university.

    c. Every student must compulsary white uniform on monday and tuesday in a every week.d. Student should maintain conducive atmosphare.e. Student should mainiain healthy atmosphare by polite obedient behavior in the premises of

    the college.f. Student should pulforth their problems, grievnces, difficulties before administration in a proper

    peaceful manners.g. Student should not make interactions in class room while teaching faculty.h. In liesure time student not make crowed in corridore in liesure time they must take use of

    benefit of library.

The students should read the

    merit list displayed in the college on the date mentioned in the prospectus.f) Claims on refund will not be considered after the deadline.g) The candidate must remain present with all the documents in original along with necessary

    xerox copies.h) No student will be given admission after the deadline.i) Incomplete admission forms will not be considered.j) If the necessary documents are not attached with the application forms, the application forms

    will not be accepted. No concession of time will be given to those who do not attach thenecessary documents.

    k) It is necessary to fulfill the required condition/qualification that the university has recommentedfor the postgraduate course concerned.

    l) The students, who will be eligible for admission to the courses, will be subject to the eligibilityconditions of the university.

    m) The students who have completed first year from the other universities or affiliated collegeswill not be eligible for admission to the second year of the postgraduate course.
