The European Cultural Route of Saints Cyril and Methodius will be a European network of cities and regions interconnecting historically important places of pilgrimage and utilizing their common cultural heritage for increasing competitiveness and attractiveness of European cities and regions.

Currently we can count on cooperation for implementing the European Cultural Route of Saints Cyril and Methodius with eleven partners: 2 domestic and 9 foreign partners, all of which are signatories to the Declaration of Cooperation Another four partners are in the negotiation phase.

cross-border region and cooperation Area of support: 1.6 Micro-project Fund Appeal: no. 10 Implementation period: May 2013 – December 2013 (8 months) Partners: City of Gbely (Slovakia), Masaryk Museum in Hodonin (CR) Project status: implementation phase
The aim of the project is to extend the existing Saints Cyril and Methodius Route to Slovakia, including drafting of designation (signs) in the field and trail identification
Outcomes mapping attractions and tourism services in the immediate vicinity of the route
(around 5 km, in the interest of equal access); draft proposal for extending the Pilgrimage Trail of Saints Cyril and Methodius; graphics and a manual for designating the Pilgrimage Trail of Saints Cyril and
Methodius including a proposal for an information system, maintenance and restoration of signs;
documentation for the building permit for the information system

The aim of the micro-project is implementation of extension of the Pilgrimage Trail of Saints Cyril and Methodius including designation (signs) in the field and building information panels for ensuring identity of the trail. Creation of a bulletin informing on the route of the pilgrimage trail and on church and historical monuments relating to the trail found nearby the trail.

Result The Cyril and Methodius Pilgrimage Route with a unified form of designation and
an information system giving the pilgrimage route a distinct identity.
