Pastor’s

Message 16th Sunday in Ordinary Time

“The Lord said to her in reply, "‘Martha, Martha, you are anxious and worried about many things. There is need of only one thing. Mary has chosen the better part, and it will not be taken from her.’" (Lk 10:41-42) If we imagine the Lord telling us what He said to Martha regarding her request, most of us would probably ask Jesus if he was kidding! Considering the crazy things happening around in this busy world we live in, would you believe it a right to be ‘anxious and worried’ about what has been going on these days? Of course, we know what the Lord meant! It is all right to worry, as long as we anchor everything in God’s care and concern. God shares our worries. And, knowing God truly cares for us, we become trusting amid the problems around us. To all those who have worried about the growth of our parish, I am happy to report our new ministries of Hospitality, Altar Society, and Blood One are reasons many visitors have expressed interest in joining our parish family. You may also notice a new look of our evolving parish bulletin – thanks to the past volunteers to this media ministry: George Cuttita, Sheryl Schaeffer, Nancy Cummings, Marylu Mariniello, and now Fred Rosenthal - the good news about the “mysteries of the Kingdom of God” continues to unfold in our midst. The story of Martha and Mary makes us appreciate what responsible stewardship is all about; Merely rooting a servant’s heart amid worries and pains on the warmth and comfort of Jesus who listens and loves, no matter what happens.

“…in accordance with God's stewardship given to me to bring to completion for you the word of God…” (Col 1:25)

DINE TO DONATE Every TUESDAY, one of our local restaurants supports our building fund by donating proceeds from parishioners who patronize their establishment.
