Applications for County

It's that time of year again to

recruit new County Council members for 2019-20. If

you will be in grades 11 or 12 in the fall of 2019, you

can apply for County Council. Council members are

active role models in Clayton County 4-H, and they

gain valuable leadership and team-building life

skills. Make new friends and have fun! The Council

is made up of 16 youth and we have 12 positions to

fill this year. Applications are available at the Exten-

sion Office or on our website: http://

www.extension.iastate.edu/clayton/4h Deadline for

applications is June 25. Interviews will be July 11.

organizations, or individuals to help brighten

the Clayton County Fair Grounds. Each club is

asked to bring one or more flowering pots to the Clayton

County Fair to help decorate the grounds.

Fair Grounds Clean-Up Days

Again this year we will be having 3

Saturdays for clubs to sign up to help pre-

pare the fairgrounds for the annual county fair. Clean up

days will be July 6, 13 & 20 from 9 am- 12 noon. The fair

Board is asking clubs to consider working on Monday,

August 5 or Tuesday, August 6 for post-fair grounds

clean up. In addition help is needed during the fair. Call

the Extension Office to see what days are available.

Shooting Sports Archery Event –June 23

Clayton County 4-H will be hosting an “Introduction to Archery Clinic” on Sunday, June 23 from 1-3 pm at the horse arena at the Clayton County Fairgrounds, National. All 4-H members interested in archery are encouraged to attend. If there is interest, we will be scheduling further events.
