Daily
Planner for:
Kandinsky
Class
Day: Wednesday 1st
July 2020
We are in July!!
Subject You are learning: You can find out how to do this here:
Here are some important
things to remember:
Reading GR LO: Can I compare
Daniel and Gracie?
Signs of success:
- Can I read the
rest of chapter 9?
- Can I use Cassie
the Commentator
to help me
compare the
characters?
- Can I say what
compare and
contrast mean?
Read the rest of Chapter 9. Once you have finished reading, think about
what you know about Daniel and Gracie. Can you compare the
characters?
Wrote some notes about each character, you can include evidence
from the text too.
Write what is similar about them, and what is different about them. Write
some sentences explain these similarities and differences.
Use Cassie the Commentator to help you. Once thing she does to help is
help you to compare different parts of the text and characters.
This means that you will need to think carefully about what you have read
and use evidence from the text to support your answers. So, think
carefully about what you know about each of the characters.
Compare means looking for similarities and contrast means looking for
differences!
Vocabulary Victor helps us to
find out what words mean.
Our word of the day is
‘menace’
What does this word mean?
“there was menace, in their
eyes.”
Writing LO: Can I create a play script between Mother and Gracie? Signs of success:
- What is a play script?
- Can I say what features are in a play script?
- Can I set the play script out correctly?
- Can I perform my play script?
Mother is both angry and proud of Gracie in Chapter 9 after she went fishing with Daniel in the boat. Discuss why. Write a conversation between Mother and Gracie as a short play script using the extract in the book. Make it as creative as you can! Share with someone else and then practice performing this with that person. You can either film it or perform it to another person! Show your creativity and expression! Below are some features of a play script and an example of how they are set out.
I would love to see these!
Example: -
Spelling LO: spellings ‘que’
Handwriting!
Today write the spelling words
out in your best handwriting!
These are goods words to
practice as the letter ‘q’ can
be hard to join!
Once you have finished the
words, write some sentences
using the words. Perhaps see
how many words you can fit
into a sentence?
Can you make some funny
sentences?
If you want a challenge write a
paragraph using all the words!
Maths LO: Adding two 4-digit
numbers – with more than
one exchange!
This week is week 7, the date
on the website is w/c 8th June
However, we have covered
this content so we have some
alternative work for this week!
Click on the link below to
access the video.
Optional
challenges!
The sheets will be on the class
page on the website for you to
download.
Some of these things we have
done back in Autumn, it is
good for us to have a refresher!

Two different challenges to
choose from today. Up to you if
you try both!
Basic maths
facts
LO: Can I create a times
table snakes and ladders?
Can you create your own snakes and ladder board game?
Try to use a range of times tables, or ones you find trickier to answer!
Below are some examples to help you design yours…
Tips on how to play: -
Use a dice to roll how many
spaces you can move. If you
land on a question you will
need to answer it. If you land
on a ladder you move up to
the top of the ladder, if you
land on a snake you will have
to go down the snake.
Topic work
LO: Can I draw a small
picture of myself?
Today’s topic task is to draw a small picture of yourself. This doesn’t need
to be very big; it can be roughly the same size as a square ‘sticky note,’
Please not much bigger than this, as this will be too large!
Once you have completed this, please email it to me on
[email protected] just like you did with the report
comments.
This is a task I would like EVERYBODY to complete, and sent to me by the
Monday 6th July 2020
I will explain the reason for this later on! Thank you so much, look forward
to seeing your pictures!
