Welcome to the 2017 Quilters’ Quest Shop Hop. You are going to have a blast! Make plans for dinner (put something in the slow cooker or someone in charge of dinner!) before you head out, so you can put your feet up and play with your new acquisitions when you get home.

Two days is a reasonable amount of time to plan to spend on the Quest. That gives you travel time and 30-60 minutes at each shop. If you can plan your Quest for during the week, you’ll find the shops less crowded. But, of course, we’re happy to see you any day!

Shop Hours All shops will be open during the following times although some may have extended hours if they are regularly open beyond these times. See the information for the individual shops in the pages that follow. And yes, we are all open on Friday, November 10 (Veteran’s Day).

November 9 - November 18 Monday - Saturday, 9:30 a.m. - 6 p.m. • Sunday, 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Keep In Mind • Exclusive Fabric. The 2017 Quilters’ Quest fabrics will be on sale at each shop, while supplies last, beginning on the

first day of the Quest. It is exclusive to the participating shops and is in limited supply. • Finishers Reward Card. If you’re planning to complete the Quest, be sure to get your passport stamped at each

shop and turn it in to the last one you visit. In return, you’ll get a 2017 Quilters’ Quest Reward card that’s worth 15% off all regular-priced merchandise at any of the shops from the day you complete the Quest through October 31, 2018!

• Free Fabric Squares & Quilt Patterns. You can collect a set of 8- 6”x6” fabric squares at each shop ($4 for each set or free with a minimum $30 purchase.) Please limit your packs to two per person (per passport holder-earn one & buy one or buy two) to ensure that we have enough for all Questers. If there are packs left at the end of the Quest, the shops will sell them. Quest Cuts will be given/sold only to Questers who are in the shop; please don’t ask us to give you extra for “my friend…”. Each shop has designed an exclusive quilt that uses some or all of the 80 squares you can collect throughout the Quest. Each shop will provide you with a free copy of their quilt pattern and you can also purchase a Finishing Kit (where available) to complete the quilt.

Before You Go • Plan your route. Extensive driving directions are included here, but you’ll also want to refer to the map on

www.quiltersquest.org to create your plan of attack. • Make your shopping list. You’ll be visiting ten shops with an incredible variety of fabric, notions, patterns and

books. Don’t get home and realize that you forgot to pick up that half-yard of blue floral, or check out that new book, or see a new tool demo-ed.

samples. • Water or another beverage to keep with you in the car. Snacks are a good idea, too. See each shop’s driving notes

Cottonseed Glory 4 Annapolis Street, Annapolis, MD 21401 • 410.263.3897

Directions From Material Girls: Take US 301 North. It will merge with US 50 East, then below. From Traditions and Patches: Take I-70 East, then travel south on I-695, then below. From Seminole Sampler & Bear’s Paw: Take the outer loop of I-695 West, then south to I-97, then US 50 East, then below. From other shops in Quest: Go to east side of Capital Beltway and take US 50 East, then below.

From U.S. Rt. 50: Take exit 24 –Rowe Blvd and get in the far right lane of the exit ramp to merge with Rowe Blvd towards Annapolis. On Rowe Blvd., cross a bridge, then turn left at first traffic light after the Rt. 50 interchanges onto Melvin Ave. Turn right onto Annapolis Street. At end of second block, about 50 feet before the 2nd stop sign, turn left into driveway between last two pink buildings. Cottonseed Glory is on the parking lot level.

Cottonseed Glory is at on a street of distinct shops known as “West Annapolis”. Just 2 blocks North (towards Severn River) of Rowe Blvd, the Scenic Entrance from US Rt. 50, Exit 24. These 2 blocks of Annapolis Street are on the opposite side of the Rowe Blvd from the US Naval Academy Stadium

Why you want to follow these directions instead of MapQuest and most GPS directions: most navigation system will have you take Taylor Avenue which requires you to turn left at a stop sign in which you will encounter considerable cross-traffic. Turning at the first traffic light – Melvin Ave. -- is faster and easier and your GPS will probably recalculate once you are on Melvin Ave.

If traffic is heavy on Saturdays on Route 50 eastbound. If traffic appears to be backing up in the right hand lane as you approach Annapolis, move to the left lane and use this alternative approach: Do not exit at exit 24. Instead continue on, going over the Severn River Bridge. Take to first exit just after you cross the bridge. It has two lanes—TAKE THE FAR RIGHT LANE—it says “Naval Academy” and is Route 450. Keep on this road and make no turns—you will cross the river again. At the third traffic light, bear to right. It is a sharp curve—keep in the right lane. The driveway to Cottonseed Glory will be immediately on your right—just between the first two buildings you see.

Parking & Handicap Access Parking is available in the store’s off-street lot on the lower level..
