THE CLIMATE CHALLENGE FUND

The Climate Challenge Fund

• Supporting community groups tackling climate change (grants up to 150k available for financial year 2015)

• To date more than £57.2 million in CCF funding has been awarded to 638 community group projects

• Projects reduce local carbon emissions, helping to tackle climate change and lead to additional community benefits

Support from Keep Scotland Beautiful

• Dedicated Development Officer- project ideas, application, project implementation

• Free workshops to increase community group knowledge and capacity

COMMUNITY GROUPS RECEIVING CCF FUNDING IN THE PAST

………as long as your group is led by their community and operated on a not for profit basis they could be eligible for funding.

GWT OBJECTIVES

• Cycling into Sustainability - The Fallin Community Enterprise Recyke a Bike (Falkirk & Stirling)

• Forward Shopmobility Aberdeen – assistance for community with disabilities to use public transport

• A Better Way to Work (Glasgow) offer free journey planning, trial public transport passes and cycle training

REDUCING SOCIAL ISOLATION OF VULNERABLE GROUPS IN PARTICULAR THE ELDERLY

 The Make a Difference Project, Lightburn Elderly Association Project £266,759 www.leap-project.co.uk • Blantyre, Hamilton, Larkhall, South

Lanarkshire.

• Provides energy efficiency advice, advocacy, training and practical measures to reduce energy use, fuel poverty & carbon emissions from older peoples homes

Trusted CCF funded community groups provide advice on reducing energy use, carbon emissions and fuel poverty.
