How will we

demonstrate our

knowledge of writing

and audience

awareness? Each new entry in our blog is called a post.

Each post should be thoughtfully written to show

organization of ideas and good editing of

capitalization, punctuation, and word usage!

Explain and elaborate your ideas with interesting words and

well-written sentences and paragraphs. Stay on topic.

Write with your audience in mind who will read your work.

Look forward in the future to comments and feedback from your

teacher and classmates!

How can we

write 'Quality'

blog comments?

What does

‘quality’ mean

and what does it

look like?

In what ways are

comments we

write for learning

different than ones

we write for fun?

Commenting Guidelines: Give the writer a compliment.

I like how you wrote about...

Make a connection to the writer. Add new information or ideas to what the blogger has shared.

This reminds me of...

Ask the writer at least one question.

(I wonder...) (Why...?) (How...?)

Always go back and re-read your comment to edit or revise your writing.

Keyboarding Tips:

Remember:

Use just 1 space after period at end

of sentence.

Fingers move, not your hands.

Use finger closest to key you need.

Curl fingers over home row (like a cat).

Use your thumb for spacebar.

Keep pointer fingers on f and j.
