Our Vision: The Lander Children’s Museum will be Wyoming’s leading resource for empowering young minds through explora on and experimenta on.

For over 15 years, the Lander Children’s Museum has provided west central Wyoming with interac ve hands‐on exhibits and innova ve programs that invite children and adults to ex‐plore, learn, and play together. As we strive to spark imagina on and encourage curiosity, the Lander Children’s Museum also works to build a stronger community and act as a model for early childhood educa on. The 2013‐14 fiscal was a highly successful and amazing year filled with new programs and increased growth of exis ng programs, partnerships, and exhibits. This would not have been possible without the support of our volunteers, donors, and community. Thank you for being an integral part of the Museum’s past and present success!!!!!!!

Lander Children’s Museum - 2013 - 2014 in Review Ω We hosted Fall Fest where children enjoyed a variety of activities to bring in the Fall Season. Ω We hosted in November our Annual Monte Carlo Affair and raised over $10,000 through the efforts of

people who care about the museum and the community who supports us. Ω In December we hosted a New Year’s At Noon Event so that the children could bring in the New Year

and the highlight was dropping the ball at Noon with the help of the local volunteer fire department. Ω In April we hosted our first annual NANO Days Event. We were able to collaborate with the Fremont

County Library and NISE NETWORK to conduct an event where children learned about NANO Sci-ence and how it is impacting their world.

Ω In April and May we hosted 15 school field trips, 382 children, from 6 within communities Fremont County.

Ω In April we hosted an “Earth Day Event” and were able to share many fun activities and environmental lesson to 67 children from 3 communities.

Ω In June, July and August we hosted 14 Summer Classes. This allowed learning experience to be availa-ble to 150+ children. We had classes for children from 4 to 13 years of age and many new instructors this year. It was a full and exciting summer.

Ω On July 4th we were able to once again participate in the Challenge for Charities by working on the new children’s 1-mile race. We had over 50 participants and the kids love to run just like mom and dad. It is a great way to promote family fitness in our community.

Ω July brought the Circus to Town at the museum. Children enjoyed juggling, face painting, magic, bouncy houses, popcorn and the big top atmosphere. We were able to entertain 80 people during the big event.

Ω In August we attended Riverfest and Fremont County Fair where 90+ children learned to paint using centrifugal force to move their paint on paper. Children and adults alike enjoyed the activity.

Ω In August we ended our summer activities with our “Waterworks Day”. Children came and enjoyed enviro-scapes, games, invertebrates, water play, water rockets, snow-cones, watercolor painting, bub-bles, walking on oobleck, and anything water. We had 80+ very wet and tired children.

Ω We have been building many partnerships over the last year to make the museum better. We worked with the Bureau of Land Management to construct, provided expertise (to staff and students), and im-plement an archeological dig in the museum. BLM provide 3 archeologists to build with artifacts, and then to teach the 4th graders how we excavate a dig and record data to collect history facts. We were able to have the dig in the museum for 3 months and children were able to take great information from this exhibit. We also worked with Spriggs Sheet Metal to design and produce a bubble table for the museum. I can tell you this one is a hit with everyone no matter the age. We have continued to work with the forest service for our tree exhibit and use of their materials. We have collaborate with the Sci-ence Zone in Casper again to get a Weight and Pulley exhibit to enhance what we have. We continue to build relationships to make the museum better.
