This course will run for a total of five weeks from 23 November 2012 to 30 December 2012. This courseallows instructors to teach the same materials to several different classes over the course of each day / week.A total of six teachers will be provided per class. The responsibilities are delegated as follows:

Language Leaderdoes a wonderful job of integrating reading, writing, listening,speaking, grammar and vocabulary. As such it is not efficient to teach specificskills in separate lessons, rather teachers will be assigned specific parts ofeach unit. Computer Assisted Language Learning sessions will take place in the computerlab under the supervision and support of a CALL specialist.These sessions will meet five times per week.

InternationalELT partners

Sound Concepts will provide the structure for the pronunciation training in thiscourse, but additional resources will be integrated from both Pronunciation inUse and Communicator to provide sufficient drilling and communicativeactivities.

Tutorial: ProjectBased-Learning

InternationalELT partners

Project-Based Learning Tutorials will guide participants through the process ofdeveloping a term-length project that builds their English Language Proficiency.The projects are meant to be practical experiments in self-study andcollaborative learning. The instructors role during these sessions is similar tothat of a consultant and resource guide. The Study Skills section ofLanguageLeaderprovides some useful materials that may be used.

TestPreparation

Tests are naturally important and unavoidably worrisome for Vietnameseeducators and students. Too often, the primary focus of these classes is uponfamiliarity with the test format. Underneath this FELT-NEED, however, arereal language needs that center around appropriate and effectivecommunication. In Test Preparation classes, as with and even more so that other classes, ERROR ANALYSIS and FEEDBACK are essential. Whenparticipants fail to complete a section of test effectively, language is almostalways at play. Teachers in these classes will identify those language issues!
