THE BATTERYPROBLEMFACING GREEN POWER...Like you, we’re worried about Climate Change. Like you also, we want to do something about it, before it’s too late. That’s why as a team of concerned engineers, we’ve come-up with the World’s cleanest industrial battery. It also happens to be the World’s best performing.

Today, there are hundreds

of billions of batteries in

the World. We’re all used to

those batteries that power

our watches, phones, and

laptops − some that we can

recharge, others that we

have to throw away. Most

of those are Lithium Ion or

Nickel Hydrate types.

But about a third of the

global battery market is

of the Lead based varieties,

primarily Lead Acid and

Lead Gel batteries - your

heavy duty types. We use

them in our cars, but

they’re also used in all

sorts of industrial and com-

mercial applications that

we depend on. Hospitals,

offices, computer server

farms, telecomunication

providers and power

stations, to name but

a few − they all rely on

industrial lead based bat-

teries for their back-up and

sometimes operating power.

However, there are two big

problems with conventional

Lead based batteries. For

one thing, they aren’t very

good for the environment

or the people who handle

them. Although these bat-

teries are 95% recyclable,

the processing can still be

pretty toxic. For instance,

in the developing World,

it’s estimated that 12 mil-

lion people are affected

today by lead contamina-

tion from less stringently

controlled manufacturing

and recycling processes.

The other problem is that

Lead Acid/Gel batteries

don’t perform that well.

After a couple of years or

so of use, they need to be

replaced. They also can’t

hold as much energy or be

recharged as many times

as some alternative battery

types. All the renewable

energy generation systems

that are emerging today

may all produce clean power,

but if it can’t be stored well,

then all that hard work is

wasted. Batteries are the

bottle-neck for the clean

energy systems that might

help avoid the looming

Climate Change disaster.

But, Lead Acid/Gel batteries

are cheap and in abun-

dance. So, everyone keeps

using them.

OUR SOLUTION

The science part : Lead Crystal® technology consists of a number of special and unique features including a patented micro porous high absorbent mat, extra-thick plates cast from a high-purity lead calcium selenium alloy, and a non-corrosive SiO2 based electrolyte solution. During the initial charging the electrolyte solidifies and forms a non-toxic white crystalline powder. This even-tually results in a safe, fluid-less, high performance and environmentally friendly battery.

The patented Lead Crystal®

technology means that

there’s now an alternative

to conventional Lead Acid

and Lead Gel batteries,

which is softer on the envi-

ronment and people, offers

far greater performance.

It's also still affordable and

actually more economical

over the long term.

Only one plant in the World

is capable of producing the

Lead Crystal® batteries.

We’re busy developing

another and our own state-

of-the-art recycling facilities

too. While conventional

Lead based batteries are

typically only 95% recyclable,

we’ve now pushed that

up to about 99%. Also,

there’s no toxic fluid inside

our batteries, so no risk of

spillage or health hazards.

What’s more, Lead Crys-

tal® batteries last up to

four times longer than the

conventional Lead Acid type,

which means far fewer

batteries produced globally

and so a lot less pollution.

On the performance side,

Lead Crystal® batteries

outperform! They can be

used more often, they

can be stored longer, they

recharge faster and they’re

more rugged than any

other battery technology.

We had quite a bit of fun

testing the ruggedness,

especially. We threw

them out of planes (with

a parachute of course),

shot holes through them

and even chain-sawed

them. They still worked

fine, every time. (Don't try

this at home, we’re battery

professionals!)

The Lead Crystal® batteries

have been out of our labs

for just a few years now,

but they’ve already got the

other guys worried. The

batteries have been suc-

cessfully deployed in a wide

range of applications - from

electric buses (as show-

cased at World Expo 2010

in Shanghai), to renewable

energy farms and telecom

stations, to DIY solar kits

for poor rural communities,

who don’t have access to

regular on-grid electricity.

Of course, we’d like Lead

Crystal® batteries to be

used in as many places

as possible. One day soon,

we’d even like you to find

them in your car, which

would then sound more like

a ‘‘ZiiiP‘‘, than a ‘‘BRooooM‘‘.
