Tailor the topic to the aging services field. Provide hands-on information.
Practical and replicable concepts for aging services providers
How and why was the initiative successful? Describe the lessons learned and what you would do differently.
Share research findings and measureable outcomes. Provide hands-on material members can utilize.
Clarity and depth of session content and education
methods that enhance the learning experience.
Describe the reasoning and planning behind the project or initiative. How will you make it a rich and engaging audience experience?
Qualifications, expertise and
experience level of
speakers
A good proposal includes diverse viewpoints to bring the session to life. Explain how the speaker’s background and experience relate to the topic.

Consider the Audience
Does the topic have broad applicability or relevance to a specific provider type or professional discipline?
• What is innovative and original about your proposal?
• Do you have enough information and content to cover the 1.5 hours allotted for each session?
First Impressions
Count
• Avoid acronyms and terms that may be unfamiliar to some.
• Is the proposal organized, well-written and complete?
Brag a Little, But Not Too Much
• Educate to sell, don’t sell to
educate.
• Include a provider member who can share their experiences using your program, product or service.
• An organization or individual may be the proposals submitter (i.e. lead speaker) in a maximum of two proposals.
• The person listed as the proposal submitter cannot be changed once the proposal has been submitted.
