TRANSCRIPT
The 5th Annual Wesley Glen/Wesley Ridge Charity Golf Classic, The Residents’ Cup, was held Tuesday, July 15, to benefit Hospice Services at Methodist ElderCare and Wesley At Home. Net proceeds of $113,000 were the highest ever for the event and a 19% increase over 2013!
The dinner auction also exceeded expectations, topping 2013’s net proceeds by $7,000. Columbus’ own ABC6 meteorologist Bill Kelly served as master of ceremonies and broadcast live from the event at 5 and 6 pm. Professional auctioneer Mike Albert was once
again the auctioneer for the live auctions.
Corna Kokosing Construction Company and FirstMerit Bank were the Co-Title Sponsors for the outing, and we were blessed to have PGA Senior Tour player Rod Spittle join us. He played on the Champions Tour in 2011, 2012 and 2013, and has participated in the Senior PGA Championship and U.S. Senior Open Championship for the past four years. Rod’s “Beat the Pro” challenge was enjoyed by all, as was the hilarious ladies’ tee challenge.
“We are thrilled to have hosted such a successful event that provides resources for providing excellent care to Columbus-area seniors and our residents,” said Peg Carmany, Methodist ElderCare Services CEO. “The 5th Annual Wesley Glen/Wesley Ridge Charity Golf Classic was a huge hit and we look forward to continuing with this event year after year,” said Peg Carmany, CEO of Methodist ElderCare Services.
