14) “But I confess this to you, that according to the Way which they are calling a sect, in

this way I serve the ancestral God, by believing all things which have been written according to the law and in the prophets;

15) “by having hope toward God, which these themselves also are expecting, that a

resurrection of the dead is about to happen, both of the just and unjust. 16) “And in this I am exercising myself, to have a conscience without offence toward

God, and toward men continually.



17) “And after many years I arrived in order that I might make alms toward my nation,

and offerings; 18) “in which certain Jews from Asia found me purified in the temple, not with a

crowd, nor with an uproar; 19) “who it was necessary that they should appear before thee, and that they should

accuse me, if they had anything against me.



20) “Or let these themselves say, if they found in me any unrighteousness, when I stood

before the Sanhedrin, 21) “than concerning this one voice, that I shouted having stood among them, that
