Principal’s Message Dear Parents/Caregivers, As we begin this week, our thoughts are with the Edward School community, regarding the recent passing of Judy McGuiness, their Principal. Judy was an extremely dedicated, passionate and highly respected principal for many years in the Deniliquin area, and will be greatly missed. Aspire Me STEAM Camp Congratulations to Landon Daggett and Casper O’Brien, who have been selected to attend the Aspire Me STEAM Camp, on the 11th and 12th of April. This should be a wonderful experience for the boys, who will be involved in collaborative problem solving activities involving STEAM, with strong links to numeracy, literacy, coding and robotics. Fishing for Friends Weather permitting our special Fishing for Friends group will have their first outing for the year on the 5th April. Strategies have been discussed and hopes are high that a ‘big catch’ will be snagged. Charity Mini Fete Excitement is building, with preparations underway for our annual Charity and Mini Fete which is to be held this Thursday 29th March. Students can look forward to the Easter Hat Parade, the famous cake stall and a variety of fun stalls run by individual classes. A big thank you to Mrs Murphy and her team for the great job they have done in organising this day, and to all the classes for their creative efforts in planning and setting up the various stalls. Proposed Timetable: 9:00am Easter Hat Parade 11:00am Kinder Cake Stall 1pm Fete begins 2:30pm Drawing of the Senior School Raffle and presentation of certificates. Parent – Teacher Conferences To assist with the organisation of parent-teacher conferences in week 11, parents are reminded that time slips need to be returned to classroom teachers as soon as possible. Allocated conference days are: Monday 9th April 5/6 Matilda, 6 Cyclones Tuesday 10th April 4 Boomers, 3/4 Diamonds, 4/5 Stingers Wednesday 11th April K Dolphins, K/1 Gold, 1/2 Bahamas Thursday 12th April 2 Hockeyroos, 2/3 Great Britain, 5 Kookaburras Easter Raffle This year our Senior class is coordinating and running our annual Easter Raffle. All tickets (sold or unsold) or due back by Wednesday 28th March. Sporting News The good news continues for our talented senior students with Liam East, Jace Collins, Logan Leiper and Tyson Willis being selected to represent the Western Riverina at the upcoming Riverina AFL Sporting Trials. We wish all of these students the very best of luck and know that they will try their best and enjoy this opportunity. We thank the many parents who have assisted with transporting the large group of students to the various sporting trials that have been held throughout the region this term. This is a fantastic effort. Supervision Just a reminder that the formal supervision for students begins at 8.30am. Students arriving prior to this time, are requested to sit under the COLA until the 8.30am bell. Have a happy week and an enjoyable Easter break. Have a happy week! Sporting News Congratulations to Jessica Dover, Bede Orr and Jace Collins on their respective selections for the Riverina Soccer Trials. Other students who participated in the local trials were Caitlyn Saunders, Shanè Bothma, Cameron Wills, Tyson Willis and Liam East.

All students acquitted themselves well and several went close to gaining selection for the next level.

Bede and Jace will attend the Riverina boys soccer trials in Tumut tomorrow and Jessica the girls soccer trials in Albury, next Tuesday 3rd April. We wish them well. Cricketing News Our boys cricket team will play Tocumwal here, next Wednesday the 4th April. They have been training hard and are keen to participate in Round 3 of the Taber Shield. Thank you to Mr Danckert and Mr Fajks, who have been training the boys.

Thursday 29th March 1.00pm - 2.30pm Don’t forget our Mini Fete to be held on Thursday 29th March commencing at 1.00pm and finishing at approximately 2.30pm.

Money raised goes to support our World Vision child, Deepak Sahu in India, Stewart House and the Royal Children’s Hospital.

Kindergarten will be running a Cake Stall at 11.00am (Recess).

Each class will be running a stall. Parents and Carers are invited to come and share lunch with your child and buy from the many stalls. Costs: 50 cents to $2 a go.

and lots more….. If you can’t come but would like to support the Mini-Fete, please allow your children to bring a little money to purchase an

item or enter a competition. Children may wear casual clothing.

Jam Donuts for Sale at Mini-Fete Huge thank you to Gavan and Frieda Nolan who are selling jam donuts at our Mini-Fete on Thursday. All funds will be donated to the school. Cost $1.00 each.
