The Hotel Dorisol Florasol is a central 3-star hotel located in the famous Lido area in Funchal, on the South coast of Madeira. The

walk to the famous Lido area with its many swimming pools and sea access is a short step away from the hotel entrance just about

200 meters. The courteous service and the pleasant atmosphere at the Florasol, together with its excellent location make this a great

option for your holiday.

The familiar atmosphere at the Dorisol Florasol reflects also on its accommodation. The studios are large and comfortably furnished

and they all have a veranda, direct dial telephone, cable TV, safe and a kitchenette with a two ring electric stove, fridge, pans, china,

cutlery, toaster and a coffee machine on request.

The bathroom has a bathtub and hairdryer. The one-bedroom apartments are set up so the bedroom, living room and the kitchen are

all separate. The kitchen is fully equipped including a coffee machine and the living room has a cable TV with two chairs and a large

sofa. All apartments also have a veranda. All verandas are furnished.

The Hotel Dorisol Florasol offers a large ocean-view solarium with a swimming pool, a children’s splash pool and a playground. The

Dom Pedro Baía is located in the Machico Bay, a marvelous site overlooking the beach and the Machico harbor, unique for a quite

walk away from the hotel on the seafront promenade. A great addition to the many activities you can choose from in Machico. Dom

Pedro Baía Club offers one large outdoor seawater swimming pool with a beautiful view to Machico Bay, Tennis Court, Sports Court

About Porto Santo Island Porto Santo Island is a Portuguese island 43 kilometers (27 mi) northeast of Madeira Island in the North Atlantic Ocean; it is the

northernmost and easternmost island of the archipelago of Madeira. The island is characterized by two areas: the rough

northeast (mountainous, with rocky ledges and cliffs), and a coastal plain in the southwest (that includes a nine kilometer long

white sand beach, giving the island an advantage over neighboring Madeira). Along its nine kilometers of soft white sands, you’ll

find just a handful of hotels and restaurants, making Porto Santo one of the last ‘undiscovered’ resorts in Europe.

The island has an international airport, with routine flights to Madeira Airport (about a 15-minute flight away). The Porto Santo

Airport (PXO) has many connections with both domestic (Ponta Delgada, Lisbon, Oporto and Faro) and (occasionally)

international flights (including several charters to England, Italy, Germany, Belgium, France and Spain).

The most popular way of getting to Porto Santo is by ferry, from Funchal on neighboring Madeira. The boat usually leaves daily

from Funchal (in the harbor, near Loo Rock) at around 8h00, and return around 18h00, though there are occasional variations

according to season, and on Fridays to accommodate weekend traffic. Tickets cost around €50 for a return in low season, and

€60 in high season.

Traveling to Porto Santo Island

Porto Santo’s airport was extended on 28th August 1995 to accept international flights. SATA, the Portuguese

airline, offers around 12 flights a day (depending on the season) between Funchal and Porto Santo, the flying

time for which is around only 15 mins. During the summer season you may also find direct flights from some of

the larger European airports including Gatwick, Lisbon and Porto.

The most popular way of getting to Porto Santo is by ferry, from Funchal on neighbouring Madeira. The boat

trip takes 2 hours and 15 minutes usually leaves daily from Funchal (in the harbor, near Loo Rock) at around

8h00, and returns around 18h00, though there are occasional variations according to season, and on Fridays

to accommodate weekend traffic. The ship's capacity is 1153 passengers.

Tickets cost around €50 for a return in low season, and €60 in high season. There are 1st Class and Coach

Class, both with a 50% reduction for children aged 5 to 11. Tickets for children under 4 years old are free.The

1st class lounge is situated in a privileged area of the ship, right over the operating station. It is a more

reserved area and it has a superior panoramic view. Besides this, there is an exclusive bar, a multimedia

room and private toilets. Breakfast or a buffet are served on all trips.

You can buy your ticket at any Porto Santo Line office (including the counters situated near the boarding

point), at one of the authorized travel agencies, or you can choose the Buy on-Line option. At the time of

boarding passengers must present an identity document that shows his/her full name and a photograph (ID

card, Passport or Driver's License).
