About the book / Sobre el libro:
The cover picture was Dorita’s pillbox. Walking with Dorita through Santa Rosa
(Arg) was knowing that more than one patient was going to stop her. To tell her
how much she had helped them. How much Dorita’s heart had loved them. A
year after your death, I love you so much, mum.© Guillermo Schiava D’Albano.

Cakes and orange juice
The habit thatis not a routine†begins in the taxi.Granny and you, mum.Smile to each otherthinking about the cakeyou are going to eat.Sometimes Alzheimer’scarries you to thatmum full of fearsand frustrations. When I was youngand everyone calledyou Doctor.Defeated by the house we lost.By my brother the rebel, always in pain.By your Santa Rosa‡ without us.But sometimesAlzheimer’s forgets you.And you eat cake, and granny looks at youand everythingis so yummy .And then I forgetthat you forget. And we all rememberto love each other.

Elegy to Dr D’Albano
Neither was alittle paper boat.Light green mumin A&E.Nor my crying the river.Neither was alittle paper boat.Nor my crying the river. The ones that devoured youwith fire arrows.Converting your pulsesinto hourglass’ sand. That falls and fallswithout being ableto touch it.I hear it in A&E.While the nurses call youto your duty.Does it matterwhere you are?You will alwayslisten to me.And you are going toleave the two green flowersof your coffin. And thosewho mourn you.Just Because.
