  • PRINCIPAL AWARD I have introduced a Principal award, which will be announced at each school assembly. The awards are for students who have displayed exemplary behaviour. Lachlan Francis was presented for his award as he displayed leadership skills in supporting one of our students on the bus. Lachlan displayed courage and resilience. Piper Kirkwood received her award for going out of her way to show kindness to another student. She remained in class, during lunch, to help another student pack up. What a generous and thoughtful student. ELSIE LEATHAM A huge congratulations to Elsie Leatham who won a competition to meet author Andy Griffiths. Elsie, along with her Mum and Dad travelled to Melbourne where Elsie got to meet and interview Andy. She had a wonderful day. VICTORIAN STATE SCHOOL SPECTACULAR

Every year thousands of students from Victorian government schools showcase their talents at the Victorian State Schools Spectacular. This year’s show explores themes of creativity, freedom of expression and self-empowerment. It will be held at Melbourne’s Hisense Arena on Saturday 16th September. Tickets are available from ticketek.

Lee Healy is a Taungurung Elder who is also a Linguist and Project coordinator for Taungurung Clans Aboriginal Corporation. She presented the school with her Taungurung language book which will be in the library for all to access. There were many curious questions and Lee was an excellent presenter offering loads of knowledge and understanding to the audience.

    S2S AND SPORT NEWS

On Friday 26th May Grade 4s braved the weather and hiked to Mt Stirling.

At Razorback hut we sat in front of the warm toasty fire and ate lunch. After that we did the manikin challenge like last year’s Grade 3 camp. I thought the hut was great. By Nathan Cronin.

We started to walk Baldy Loop at 1:30 and arrived back to the bus at 2:30. During the hike some people got a lot of leeches on them, because we were hiding in the grass. When we arrived at the bus, Ruby noticed that she had a leech on her hand. Ms Driessen had to burn it off. By Jade Rau.
