The Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners is soliciting competitive sealed bids from qualified contractors for the Shoal Creek Raw Water Pump Station Lanier Filter Plant Pump System Improvements. Bid submittal date and location:

Sealed bids will be received by the Gwinnett County Department of Financial Services - Purchasing Division-2nd Floor, 75 Langley Drive, Lawrenceville, Georgia 30046 until 2:50 P.M. local time on July 24, 2020 and then publicly opened and read aloud at 3:00 P.M. Any bid received after 2:50 P.M. will not be accepted. Bid envelope must be marked on the outside with Bid Number, name of Bidder, date and time of opening. Contractor providing the utility work must have a current valid Utility Contractors License.

Special Conditions:

The Gwinnett County Department of Water Resources shall comply with O.C.G.A § 36-91- 20 as amended for mandatory pre-qualification of prospective bidders. Therefore, interested bidders should obtain a Pre-Qualification Application for this specific project from the Gwinnett County Purchasing Office, 75 Langley Drive, 2nd Floor, Lawrenceville, Georgia 30046 or download from our website www.gwinnettcounty.com. Project Description: The Shoal Creek Raw Water Pump Station is located at 1620 Buford Dam Road, Buford, Georgia and is equipped with four dedicated constant-speed vertical turbine raw water intake pumps to deliver flow to Lanier Filter Plant. Each pump is rated at 50 million gallons per day (mgd). The pumps provide raw water to the Lanier Filter Plant (LFP). This project includes replacing the existing pumps motors to improve the reliability of the pumping system and refurbishing the existing pumps. Work includes the removal of existing 2500 hp, synchronous type pump motors and installation of new 2500 hp, induction type pump motors; removal and replacement of all conductors associated with the motor and controls; replacing all flex conduit with new at the motor/pump area to extend to the new equipment; providing new reverse rotation electronic monitor for interface to the existing motor starter controls; removal of existing reduced

voltage auto-transformer (RVAT) type motor starters with associated synchronous controls and installation of new reduced voltage solid state (RVSS) motor starters; concrete equipment pad extension for new motor starter as required; relocation of the existing control panel section forward to match the face of the RVSS; removal and proper disposal of all materials, motor, conductors, etc.; rehabilitation of four (4) pumps; improvements to the discharge valve hydraulic units including installation of second gas bottle, second piston accumulator, associated valves, tubing and fittings; other piping mechanical, electrical and instrumentation improvements; testing and start up to construct the Shoal Creek Raw Water Pump Stations (SCRWPS) Lanier Filter Plant (LFP) Pump System Improvements complete in place, ready to operate, and as shown on the Drawings and Specifications.

Bonding and Insurance: All Bidders are required to submit a Bid Bond or a certified check made payable to the Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total amount bid. The Bid Bond or certified check must be enclosed in the envelope with the sealed bid. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a contract Performance Bond and Payment Bond, each in the sum of 100% of the total amount bid and provide insurance coverage as required by the contract documents.

Bonding Company should be licensed to do business in Georgia, licensed to do business by the Georgia Secretary of State, authorized to do business in Georgia by the Georgia Insurance Department, listed in the Department of the Treasury's Publication of Companies Holding Certificates of Authority as Acceptable Surety on Federal Bonds and as Acceptable Reinsuring Companies and must have an A.M. Best rating of A-10 or higher.

All bonds should be submitted on forms provided by Gwinnett County and agencies providing bonds and insurance should provide proof that they meet the criteria outlined in the bid and contract documents.

Bid Withdrawal:

No Bidder may withdraw his Bid within sixty (60) days after the actual date of the opening thereof. Liquidated Damages:
