There are sƟll so many things happening around the school and sƟll much to look forward to. This week some of the important events include: Tuesday 1 st December – 6.30pm P & C MeeƟng Wednesday 2 nd December – Excursion to Sydney – theatre performance ‘MaƟlda’. Thursday 3 rd December: a) Year 6 OrientaƟon Day at Tomaree High School b) Mudgee Public School Band performing for students c) Twilight Band Concert at Soldiers Point Public School our school band (under the direcƟon of Mrs Forester and Mrs Bianca Wilson) will perform. 2015 PresentaƟon Day – Tuesday 8 December This special event is a celebraƟon of our students learning and achievements in 2015. We are looking forward to welcoming many special guests, parents and friends to these special assemblies. The venue is our school hall with Kindergarten – Year 2 PresentaƟon Day beginning at 9.30am and Years 3 – 6 PresentaƟon Day being celebrated from 11.15am. Morning Tea will be provided for our special guests in between the two assemblies. Planning for 2016 We have begun the formaƟon and allocaƟon of classes for 2016. The classes are structured in a way that best meets the needs of students and teachers and are formed by staand raƟed by myself aŌer discussion with the execuƟve. The following criteria are used to ensure that the classes that are formed are in the best interests of ALL the students. These criteria are not in order of importance and include: Friendships students who need support from another close friend. Friendships students who are too friendly with another student and are best separated so both students can concentrate on their studies. Behaviour problems students who are best separated so their learning and the learning of other students is not aected. Special Needs these may be social, intellectual, emoƟonal or physical. Cultural Balance each class is formed to have a range of naƟonaliƟes and cultures. PersonaliƟes in some special cases the personaliƟes of both teachers and students are considered before a decision is made regarding the placement of a student. Gender Balance we also like to keep a balance of boys and girls in each class. ConsideraƟon is given to whether a teacher and student have been together before. As well as the above criteria, all classes will be formed to be academically and socially balanced. Parent requests are also taken into consideraƟon. This cannot always be accommodated but is important to us. StarƟng the school year – 2016 The school year starts on Wednesday 27 January with our StaDevelopment Day. Students in Years 1 – 6 start school on Thursday 28 January. Kindergarten will be meeƟng the Kinder teachers to complete Best Start Assessments on Thursday, Friday and the following Monday. P&C Fun Run

We will be holding an adidas School Fun Run as a major fundraising event

this year. The event will be held on Tuesday, 29 July within the school grounds.

The adidas School Fun Run is a healthy, fun and active fundraiser that en-

sures we send the right message to our students about getting active, having fun and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. The main focus of this

event is on participation. Family support is most appreciated as we en-courage all students to get involved.

All students will receive a Sponsorship Form today, to help collect spon-

sorship on behalf of the school. The funds raised will be used to pur-chase new play equipment for the Early Stage 1 playground.

We ask all parents to read the Sponsorship form and sign the front page

to grant permission for their child to fundraise and participate in this event. Students who raise just $10 or more will receive a reward for their effort. In the

Sponsorship form you will also find many other benefits like the chance to win a family holiday to Disneyland! Students wanting to track their progress and use online fundraising, can do so by logging onto schoolfun-

$922.95 towards their year 6 gift and $325.65 to go to the Cystic Fibrosis foundation. Well done to all involved.

Presentation Day .. Tuesday, 8 December

Don’t forget that Presentation Day is on Tuesday, 8 December.

Children are expected to dress formally in their full school summer uniform. This is a formal school assembly to celebrate our children’s

achievements in 2015. We will have a number of special guests, parents and community members attending. Kinder to year 2 will be held from

9.30-10.30am. Years 3-6 will be from 11.15am to 12.30pm. The canteen will be closed on this day so all children will need to bring their own lunch and recess.
