EMS CARE PROVIDER 2012
Michael Caudill
It all started for me 38 years ago
as a teen chasing the FD on my
bike when one of the members
says "Why don't you join us
instead of getting in our way". That advise changed my life and
started a LONG wonderful career that has had many highs and
lows. Bottom line I helped a few folks, taught a few, saved a few
and watched many a "kid" follow the same advice Dick Bagent
gave me those many years ago and I wouldn't trade them.
CONGRATULATIONS MIKE!!!
Please advise your squad members that Emergency traffic will “soon” be entering the walk in doors (under the roof around the circle drive) probably by the end of this month. For a short time the ED entrance will not be available until the tem-porary driveway is completed.
PRIVATES: All direct admits, discharges, wound care, outpatient testing, physi-cal therapy, etc. should be brought in through the Eighth Street entrance. This includes any patient that is not being seen in the ED.
Sorry about the disruption but it is called “growing Pains”. When the new Emer-gency Department is completed, it will have all been worth it!

This group meets the third Thursday of each month, except for June, July
& August when there is no meeting. The program always begins at 11
a.m. sharp and lunch begins at noon. The meeting is always held at the
356th Fighter Group at 4919 Mt. Pleasant St. NW, next to the Akron-
Canton Airport. Cost of lunch is $12 and guests are always welcome.
It seems we are unable, due to the “timing” of the newsletter being sent
out and determining the speaker for these meetings, to be able to list the
topic of discussion. When able we will print the topics.

Grilled Chocolate Banana Boats~
4 bananas
2 ounces semi-sweet chocolate
chips
2 ounces miniature marshmallows
whipped cream (optional) or ice cream (optional)
Directions:
... 1) Preheat grill. Using a sharp knife, make a slit along
most of the length of the unpeeled banana skin and
almost through the bananas. Push chocolate chips and
marshmallows into the slits; push the bananas closed.
Wrap each banana tightly in aluminum foil. 2) Place the
banana packets on the grill rack and cook for 10 minutes,
turning the packets after five minutes. Remove from the
grill. Carefully open the banana packets and remove the
cooked bananas from the aluminum foil. Note: You can
serve in the aluminum foil. 3) If desired, serve with either
whipped cream or ice cream. 4) You can also prepare
these on a campfire, on a bed of low coals.
