From the Desk of Father José…..
This weekend is known all throughout the Church as Good Shepherd Sunday. The read-ings today give us a detailed road map about the way our Good Shepherd leads us. They mention the listening aspect from both the Shepherd and the sheep. This image of listening and being aware of the act of dialogue is an invitation for each one of us to listen to the voice of God and be reminded that our Good Shepherd is aware of our own individual needs. He does listen to our cry and the cry of our pain in the midst of this time of staying at home and time of our pandemic. I know personally that the cry of so many of you who have reached out to us here at St. Charles parish is a cry to come Home to our Church and come home to our community and normal life. Let us continue lifting our prayers and ask our Lord to listen
to the cry of our inner pain and journey. Please be assured that your priests, deacons, staff, and lay leadership are lifting up your prayers to the One who listens and hears our cry. One way we would like to communicate and listen to you in the next couple of weeks during these tough times is to be able to simply send a text and an email to you individually as a household and parishioner. We are in the process of updating our parish roster. There are more than 4000 registered families in our parish registry and many more who call St. Charles Borromeo home. We will be launching a new app soon called FlockNote. It is used all throughout the U.S. in many large dioceses and parishes to communicate quickly and efficiently to pa-rishioners. Please, when you get a voice call via our letter, phone call, and text subscribe to it. This is one small way for us to simply be connected, and I promise you, as your pastor, we will not overtly use it. But during these tough times and the age of information having to be given to you quickly, WE, your priests, deacons, staff, and lay leadership believe it is the best effective way to communicate with you remotely. Let us continue listening to the voice of the Good Shepherd calling us to be in communication and dialogue with Him, through Him, and in Him.

Este fin de semana es conocido en toda la Iglesia como el Domingo del Buen Pastor. Las lecturas de hoy nos dan una hoja de ruta detallada sobre la forma en que nuestro Buen Pastor nos guía. Mencionan el aspecto de escuchar tanto del Pastor como de las ovejas. Esta imagen de escuchar y ser conscientes del acto de diálogo es una invita-ción para que cada uno de nosotros escuchemos la voz de Dios y se nos recuerde que nuestro Buen Pastor es cons-ciente de nuestras propias necesidades individuales. Él escucha nuestro llanto y el llanto de nuestro dolor en me-dio de este tiempo de permanecer en casa y en el momento de nuestra pandemia. Sé personalmente que el grito de muchos de ustedes que nos han contactado aquí en la parroquia de St. Charles es un grito para volver a casa en nuestra Iglesia y volver a casa en nuestra comunidad y en nuestra vida normal.
