FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Pops Maestro Jack Everly brings Hollywood to the WSO, Jan. 9-‐11 Winnipeg, MB — January 5, 2015 — Maestro Jack Everly is returning to the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra (WSO) with an appetite for drama. Last season it was Sci-‐Fi Spectacular; this time it’s Hollywood: The Epics. With the help of award-‐winning contemporary choral group Prairie Voices, and director Victor Pankratz, Everly will bring Hollywood to the WSO. “I was raised on MGM movies,” says Everly. “So much marvelous music. So much drama!” Soundtrack classics on the docket include works from Titanic, Gone with the Wind, Star Wars, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, Ben-‐Hur, Lawrence of Arabia, and Schindler’s List. The tour de force of film score sounds brings the silver screen right to the Centennial Concert Hall. Everly is the Principal Pops Conductor of the National Arts Centre Orchestra, the Indianapolis and Baltimore Symphony Orchestras, and the Naples Philharmonic Orchestra. This season he will conduct over 90 performances in more than 20 North American cities. Energetic and innovative singers Prairie Voices will captivate audiences with their take on the Hollywood classics with the help of well-‐known Manitoba musician and conductor Victor Pankratz.
